My Daughter - Prayers Please

My daughter Amy has been admitted to the hospital yesterday. I got a frantic call, she had passed out at work . They believe she may have spinal meningitis . I left yesterday after I got the call and am down in Hopewell at John Randolph. They attempted last night to do the lumbar puncture for the spinal tap , however Amy has metal rods in her back from scoliosis and the attempt failed. They are bringing in a specialist today to ret-try.  She is very sick , high fever - pain and she cannot move her head or neck.  I am truly worried .  I just woke from a nap ,  I am staying here at Pat Birdsongs,  I  need to be very careful myself not to go into crisis. So we are all here fighting with her .  Amy is 24 years old, Mom of 2 beautiful boys , a nursing student and the pride and joy of my life.  Please pray for her , send positive energies ... we all could use it right now .  Thanks so much ,  Natalie

Oh my...this means that you won't be going to Florida for your event on childhood Obesity, doesn't it?  That's too bad, because I'm sure that you have a wealth of info to pass along. 

But...this is extremely important.

 

Oh, Tink.  I had viral meningitis when I was 24.  It is not fun and the worst thing I have ever experienced.  I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers.  I hope they started her on a broad spectrum antibiotics as a precaution to her may have the bacterial form.  She will be in bed for at least week and will not be able to eat or move. I got violetnly sick if I got up out of bed.  She will still be recovering up to a month after onset.  Please keep us updated on her condiiton.
