Give a gift to yourself.

How often do you go through your day doing what you have to do, rather than doing what excites you? Sometimes people who have been chronically ill with obesity have spent years trying to comfort themselves with food and have not explored other areas of pleasure. Maybe chronic pain or depression held them back.

But now you can learn, maybe for the first time, what feels good to you. Really good. Luxurious. Deeply satisfying. Comforting. Nurturing. Soothing. Self loving. Totally relaxing. Exciting. What satisfies you deeply? It might be incorporating a new color into your décor. It might be music. It might be planting a sweet-smelling flower. Give yourself the gift of pleasure in life that extends beyond what you eat.

Action for the day: Spend the day paying attention to what feels good. Reflect on this simple yet important truth. Do something that really excites you today.

Yet another great topic!  Where the heck do you get your ideas from...amazing.  Anyway, honey I'm all about this.  Yesterday I finally bought me a big hydrangea & planted it exactly where I wanted it.  It is sooooo pretty.  I also bought 6 little plants & created my own "grouping"...you know...like those expensive ones you see in the stores already put together.  It looks really nice on my front porch. There's lots of things we can do that doesn't involve food.  Change your haircolor.  Try a difference shade of lipstick or gloss.  Go wild & paint your fingernails orange.  Switch purses.  Open out a blanket on the grass, lie on your back & cloud gaze...remember doing that when you were a kid?  Yeah you got stuff to do, but take 15 minutes & cloud gaze.  While you're down there, listen to the birds, watch the leaves on the trees, roll over & feel the grass.  And if you REALLY wanna let your inner child come out & play, make a mud hole somewhere in your yard & play in the mud.  Squish through your fingers, mound it up & then squa**** down.  So what if it gets under your nails or your hands get dirty...you're washable! Just be creative & do stuff that you either wouldn't ordinarily do or haven't done for years for fear of looking silly.  It's the simple things in life that are so rewarding...& you don't even have to spend money to do it.

Hugs!
Ann

I just took a trip to Bath and Body Works. I got a new moisterizing hand soap for my powder room. And I got 3 luscious flavored lipglosses! Hotcakes, pink grapefruit and Cherry Vanilla. I bought themn for the colors but the taste is terrific! I told y'all about the porch hubby built me. Well last weekend he and our eldest son put in a little water feature just outside the door of the porch. I sit there first thing in the AM watching the yard come to life with birds and squirrels. the sounds of nature are so relaxing!
