Identify Your Fitness Weakness

Often times, we find that our fitness routine is a challenge to continue.  Maybe it is because of lack of time, lack of motivation, maybe we are self conscious about going to the gym, or maybe it is that you just do not know what to do. When you begin to feel that your routine is a challenge to continue, it's time to take a step back to figure out why and how you can fix it.  Do you need to consult with a personal trainer?  Do you need more accountability and motivation?  Do you need to do some Internet research or read a book about fitness? There are some great books on the market (my fav is Fitness for Dummies) and some great Internet sites (Nat turned me on to Sparkpeople - thanks Nat!) out there waiting to help you.  Then, of course, there is always the OH board.  The Exercise and Fitness forum is a great place for information, the Virginia Board is a great place for motivation and accountability....make sure you take advantage of all of the resources available. ARGHHHHH ... My Fitness Weakness is : Keeping to my limitations. Sometimes I think I can just go and go , but I tend to forget that I am still in some what of a healing mode. More low iron than anything right now .  Honest to goodness Jill , I am in love with Shadow Boxing . I don't know why , but I can go for hours. Alan says I need to try out for that new sport - UFC . I don't think so . My only problem is I am not limber enough to kick the bag . Me thinks my legs just are not what they used to be ...LOL ...  And I love SparkPeople. OMG I get so many great Ideas from them . And the recipes are awesome.  I plan on posting a yummy summer desert that I found on a grahm cracker box . But for now , I gotta get outa here . Clothes in the dryer, and Tink with no makeup .. for shame .. that alone takes mucho timo .  Have a great day !  Nat

I LOVE boxing...that's how I lost my weight.  In fact, for Christmas I got a punching bag a PINK boxing gloves...gotta love it!!! Keeping working at the kicking.  It can take a little time to get there.  What I like to do is put on the song Crazy B*tch, by Buckcherry.  I box for the entire song, and every time they get to the chorus, I kick the bag over and over again. Ya, I love Sparkpeople - thanks for the tip.  I LOVE the videos they have that show the various moves.  Gotta love that!!! Good luck with your daughter!

You know what I just realized as I read this post?  I HATE ORGANIZED EXERCISE!  That's my blocker.  The thought of getting in the car, driving to the hospital, stick the monitor to my chest & then trudging along on the tread mill is just mind numbing.  Can't I get just as much "exercise" simply doing stuff around my house/farm?  How 'bout I put a lead rope on Sage & run around the pasture with him?  Or this project I'm working on...cleaning the horse trailer.  Doesn't that count too?  It's a half mile to my mailbox...can't I walk instead of drive?  Gggrrrr.

Being ative absolutely counts.  Try tying a rope around you and lead Sage around the pasture.  He'd love trying to catch you.

Hey Joe!  Ok, while that just gave me a really cute mental image, I don't think I'm gonna try that one.  He weighs a thousand pounds & I can't run my fat butt THAT fast.  I'll just keep him beside me.  For that matter.... hmm....now you got me thinking....I could just do some lead lessons...duuuuuh.  Lots of walking for me & he gets a reminder in manners.  Good job, Joe....you made me think that through a bit more.  Thanks!

That's why I love Pole Dancing so much.  While it's organized, it's not.  I'm not at a gym (which I HATE!) and yet getting the same (if not better) results!

Just keep searching...you'll find something....
