The first week of June , Alan and I are taking off to Orlando - Disney World . We are also taking his daughter. Our flight leaves Monday - we head to the park on Tuesday. We will once done at the park - head back down to Boca Raton. If you  have ever gone , did you stay in the park at one of the resorts, Or did you stay near by? Any tips or things I may need to be aware of ?  It has always been my dream to see Tinkerbell. I hope I get to see her in some shape or form.   Thanks, Nat

We went to Disney in March. My suggestion is to stay at one of the resorts and take advantage of the Magical Hours. It will help with the crowds.  Have fun, Penny

Tink... There is something for everyones taste within disney's resort's. The contemporary is nice and conveinate to Magic Kingdom. My fav so far is the Animal Kingdom lodge because you can get a balcony with an AMAZING view of your own private saffari. Wake up in the morning with girrafes ten feet from your balcany! Which ever you choose I strongly suggest adding the regular disney dinning to your plan so that you can choose to have a charachter dinning exp. There are SO many to choose from! At magic kingdom there is breafast, lunch and dinner buffet with ALL the Winnie the Pooh charachters at the Crystal Palace. All the resorts ( except the value ) have some sort of special dinning, many of them with the charachters as well. The one inside the contemporary resort is called Chef Mickey's. It too is a buffet with Mickey, Donald, Goofy,Minnie...etc. It's neat in there because you can take the monarail back and fourth to where you are going and while you are down stairs eating the monarail is above your head picking up and dropping off. :) Since your a tink girl, pay special attention to the fire works at Magic Kingdom, tink starts them off! By flying through the air.  ;) If you call the reservation number they have VERY nice people to help make your exp bright! You'll really enjoy the complementry transportation to and from all areas/parks of Disney. It's nice to be dropped off and picked up right outside the gate instead of paying for parking and being shuttled in. check the schedule for extra magic hours for the day you will be there. And make sure to get that dinning plan and make the reservations for where you want to eat!!! Enjoy and next time stay longer! lol We started off with 8 day's and 9 night's 3 years ago and have been EVERY summer since! We will be going again late Aug. A lil tid bit of info if you want to go for cheap....start checking the specials online about this time of the year for bookings at the end of Aug and early Sep! They are crazy cheap compared to the rest of the year! Brandi~

Brandi thank you so much for your help.  I wish we could stay longer, but we have to be down in Boca to see his Mom and Dad as well .  Do you know where I would find information on Tinkerbell and the Peter Pan story.  I know they have a ride here or attraction for Peter Pan.  I have my maps ready, from the airport to the resort . I just  need to know how to get to Tink !!  I am going to plan another trip with my grandsons before the year is out . They must experience this !  Nat

Good am Natalie, We stayed in the Contemporary Resort in Disney World. Here is a link for you to view. We enjoyed it very much although we didn't stay in the room except to shower and sleep. In addition, we loved the Monorail that goes right through it and we had breakfast with Mickey Mouse, Minnie, Goofy, Donald Duck and the Chipmunks among other characters. There are restaurants in the hotel and a gift shop as well. Its HUGE and a piece of art really. If I went back (and we are) I would choose a different one to stay in just to make new memories. Most likely it will be HOT so I suggest lots of water, sunscreen and consider getting the park hopper passes so that you can go to the parks with ease. In addition, you can pre plan things as well. There was some type of deluxe plan where most everything is pre-paid so you don't have to worry over it. http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/resorts/resortLanding?id=ContemporaryResortLandingPage&bhcp=1 There is a Magic Moments parade I think starts @ 3 pm so be there about a 1/2 hour EARLIER if you really want to see it well and go to Frontierland for a good spot. Also, Magic Kingdom is where you'll want to go in the evening to Cinderella's Castle to watch fireworks and see different characters come to life at night and if I'm remembering correctly Tinkerbell tends to fly from the castle and back at the end of the fireworks. Here is another link that helps with planning and making the best of the trip. Its got a lot of FAQ's. One last thing ...here's some info I think is really neat. Yes, I KNOW we're adults but for those *****ALLY believe .... Waking up Tinkerbell

Tink is not any early riser and needs to be awakened every morning. If you're at the park when it opens, make a beeline to Tinkerbell's Treasures. (It's on the left behind Cinderella's castle.)

The first children to arrive can ask a Cast Member if they can awaken Tinkerbell. If they're selected, they'll take part in a sweet little ceremony.

They'll tap 3 times on a small chest (with a sword or wand) and say, 'Wake up Tinkerbell!' She will awaken and fly around the room so fast that you'll see dazzling lights and hear 'Tink' noises. Some lucky children even receive a certificate to commemorate the event.

At the end of most days, (a real, live) Tinkerbell flies down from the top of the castle during the closing ceremonies. Look closely and you can see the wire she "flies" on. Enjoy!
