Teresa Im sorry about the incision infection sweetie, we all seem to have our little set backs and Im sorry your dealing with this. Hang in there kiddo and as Jackie has said crushing and splitting up but also checking with your surgeon tom. and crushing your pills and  adding with applesauce w/out sugar added will make it a smooth down for you I had to do that when I had the feeding tube and was unable to swallow those horse-like pills they had me on for different things or the sugarfree puddings helped too. the applesauce just made it slide easier. So just a few ideas. Best of luck and your in our thoughts and prayers and if there is anything we can do we are all here. hugs....

Thanks so much for writing. I am definitely checking with my dr before I take this medication. I will only miss tonight and tomorrow mornings dosage so I think I will be fine. But thanks for the idea of crushing and mixing with applesauce although I have been too scared to try applesauce because of the sugar. Thanks again so much for the thoughts and prayers. I will definitely take them! Hugs

You can buy sugar free or no sugar added Applesauce and add Splenda to it - that is what I stil do when I fancy Applesauce... I would not eat full sugar myself! Jackie

Theresa, prayers coming your way.  So sorry that you have to go through this but at least you are experienced at it.  Hope you feel better soon.

For general info about crushing pills....as long as they are not time-release, such as Metformin (generic for glucophage, for type 2 diabetes), you can crush them.  Once a time-release pill has been crushed, they are destroyed rendering them useless.  All drug stores & some grocery stores that have a pharmacy carry pill crushers.  I like the idea of  putting the powdered pills in something like apple sauce...I was just gagging it down with water.  Duuuh!    My bad!   Please let us know what your surgeon says.  In the meantime, we're all pulling for ya!!!

Hugs!

Oh no!  Let us know what the results of the test are and hopefully it will just be a lesser infection and not MRSA.  Geez, you were just at your surgeon's office last week, I would think they would have know if the lap site didn't look right or not look healed right they would have taken a test then!  You're in my thoughts!

Hi Theresa,   So sorry to hear that you are having a set back. My dad was in the hospital for MRSA for four months. Hope that this does not happen to you. Glad that you went to the ER. Best of luck to you! In June, the Fredricksburg and charlottesville groups are meeting for a picnic get together...in F'burg. Hope that you can come to that as well.  Cindy
