Plastics and Insurance
Has anyone here had their insurance actually pay for their plastics? What were the conditions?
I am facing plastics now, and have been told by my (now former) employer that they ARE frequently covered under our plan. I see my PCP and GYN next week, and will document skin issues ... see Dr Kreiger later next month. Wish me luck!

I think you will find that insurance covering the plastics will be the exception and not the rule - they do sometimes if you meet their conditions but they are on a case by case basis - so all you can really do is find out what the conditions for your insurance coverage are and see if you meet them. I know one of the conditions is 6 months to one year history of rashes and treatment along woth pictures etc....
Many plastic surgeons will expect payment up front and then if your insurance does cover it, you will get reimbursed.... I think they have such a hard time with insurance companies not paying them that they take no chances now....
Good luck!

Good am,
I agree with Jackie on this. I'm in the process now of reconstructive surgery and I'm going for it WITHOUT worrying over the insurance part of it knowing that most likely it WONT be covered. Its great if yours IS covered! Keep us posted!
All best!
