Question about smells and nausea

Ok. So I really have been blessed since this surgery with seriouslyy having the absence of any real issues with my pouch. But Im started to notice alot of changes. I have NOT been trying new thing's at all. So I know that is not the problem. But I swear my body act's like it does early in my pregnancy's. ( Im not pregnant! ) Smells make me sick just as easy as anything. Even if it is food I normally like. EVERYTHING I eat no matter how small ( 2 bites sometimes ) will make me feel sick. Not like it's stuck in my throat, and it never comes back up...but I just feel sickly. Just enough of a tummy ache to bother me. It's gotten to the point where I dread eating and latley I havent been eating even barely enough. I also get thirsty very soon after starting a meal and there for will stop eating sooner just so I cant drink something sooner. Milk is my arch enemy, in a glass or on cereal. I need some suggestions for good protein sources without shakes involved! Help  Brandi~

Well even at over 2 years out I can become nauseated at the least expected time and by food that I love! I can actually also be nauseated watching someone in a restaurant shoveling food into their mouth before they have even finished what is already there.... The best protein for me is the vials of New Whey Protein by IDS............ I never touch milk........ Sorry you are having issues - the nausea normally passes but can come and go in waves.......... However,  if it is every meal that you are feeling like this then you should give your doctor's office a call because that would not be normal... Jackie

Good pm Brandi, First, contact your doc's office. I've had 2 strictures in my journey and I experienced the same things you are with eating a few bites and feeling sick. Difference with me is I DID throw things up. In addition, my got SO bad I could not even get fluids to stay done. Dehydration is a MAJOR issue for us especially with our reduced food/fluid intake and it doesn't take much. When you get to the point of dreading to eat/drink that is a problem. PLEASE call your doc! Many of us face lactose intolerance post operatively. I rarely drink milk but when I do it's skim. Ceral is NOT a staple in my diet. Its not something that I find beneficial and helpful. But, that is me. Also, what is your aversion to protein shakes??? Honestly, they are a GREAT way to get your protein in. Foods are the best option for getting in protein but you are not able to get much of that in so liquids/protein drinks/shakes would be a good option. Keep us posted.

You have a blast. You deserve it. I am going to relax today after my battle with Maymont Park. Three different schools there with their kindergartners, first & second graders. I even managed to walk up that huge hill outside the nature center. I think, in all today, I walked over 4 miles. Dangit I'm T I R E D! Have fun

Texture is my issue with Shakes...but I do have some isppure drinks and I think Im going to start drinking them a lil more frequently. I also started noticing dizzy spells and fuzzy vision recently. I had a really bad episode tonight in the shower...my vision went fuzzy and my ears popped...it was like pressure in my head. Im going to try to make sure not to miss any vitamins this weekend and also drink some more isopure...if that doesnt help I will call the doc on Monday

I have a problem with the texture of protein drinks also. except for EAS Advantage shakes. There is no sugar in them and have 17 grams of protein. You can buy them at Wal Mart 4 for $5. I put them in the freezer for about 30 minutes before drinking them to get really really cold.  Might be something you can try.

This sounds kind of like a dehydration/blood pressure issue. The popping is like a build up release and it could be blood pressure. Dehydration does make us dizzy too. I think it is time to call for medical advice as what you have does not sound normal at all... Jackie

Sorry to hear about the nausea. As others have said, call your doctor. Milk should be your enemy btw. It is crawling with sugar. And sugar should make you sick. As should cereal. Most are chock of of sugar. You really need to look at hidden sugars in your foods. It sounds like you're dumping. My advice is to stay away from the foods that are really killing you and talk to your doctor about what you should eat. Just my humble opinion. I could be wrong.
