To all of you who are wondering....

Jim got out of recovery last night at about 7pm, and is looking good today.  He is having some issues with pain, but other than that seems to be faring quite nicely.  Julie and I just got back from seeing him, and she took him a sippy cup and some baby spoons, and I took him all of the nutritional information I had to give him.  His Dr wanted $2000 for the nutritional portion of the program, and he declined, so I KNOW he will have several questions when he gets back on here.

He will be getting out tomorrow, as his potassium is too high......

Sorry I havent been around, I have had a flu like illness since Wed :(

He appreciates all of the well wishes!!

That is great news that he has come through surgery alright! I am so happy for him. Hope they get his pain under control soon and his potasium back under control - what causes that I wonder...? I think it is pretty poor that they give him no nutritional help at all......... and $2000 is pretty steep for what they tell you - insurance did not cover my nutritional stuff and I think I had to pay $400 - that was a couple of years ago but $2000 seems pretty high to me.

If he needs any help I am sure thewre are many people here willing to help him and someone somewhwre must have had his doctor so may know exactly what they recommend,...... Hope you feel better too Dianna! There has been a real epidemic of a 2 day like flu here too      Jackie

Sending my best wishes to him for the pain. I think that's highway robbery to charge someone even a dollar for nutritional info after a major surgery like this. Absolutely ridiculous. I hope you feel better too, Dianna.                                         Jamie

Good pm Di, Glad Jim is doing well. Hopefully he'll be able to manage the pain better. We'll be here to answer questions/concerns for him just as we are for each other. Hope you get to feeling better. I too have been battling something similar. My sis and others who work in the ER/hospital/etc have said that the last 2 weeks of May through now they are seeing a LOT of that type thing. Hugs............
