Preparation-what is in my control.....

OK, so I am in prep for my surgery.  What I have done: Got my Protien supplements.  I got profect bullets.  They now have 50mg of protien bullets.  Figured this will work well for right after since I need to maintain 50mg a day in supplement.  I can have them in halves.  And since it will be hard to get things in (as I have heard) this should really help. Got a DVD player for my room for recover.  My old one broke. A package of 100% Whey Protien from GNC A bottle that has storage for my powder protien for when I travel. Pill crusher/spliter Pill Box Food Scale Still need to get: GasX Food for Full Liquids when I return home. Need new measuring spoons A new blender. Vitimans What else do I need?  Any other recomendations?   They cancelled my preop appointment for tomorrow.  Some idoit in the office scheduled me for the Veinna office and not the Woodbridge office.  They didn't even tell me!!  I got a call today and Brittney I guess caught it and had someone check with me to see if I knew it was in Veinna.  Um...no.  So I go in Friday afternoon now.  Oh boy.

A set of baby spoon and fork would be very helpful in keeping those bite sizes small.  And a blank DVD or 2 to take to the hospital so you can get a recording of your surgery.  You might think naaaaa now, but it will be better to have it and not want it than want it later and not be able to get it.

That is a great idea about the spoon and fork.  I also forgot to put on my list small plates... Will have to do the DVD thing.

Your list sounds great Melissa.  My suggestion for the blender is to just get a small one (Hamilton Beach makes one, available at Walmart) since you will just be doing small portions.  The only other thing I can think of is a nice water bottle to carry around with you every where and some papaya enzyme.  Do you have all your vitamins?

What is the papaya enzyme for again?  i have read about it somewhere.  No, I don't have my vits yet.  I was told to hold off until my last preop appointment.  They will go over my bloodwork and let me know what I will need to take.  So I will get it tomorrow. I will probably get the first batch from the Surgeon office.

the papaya enzyme is for when you have a piece of meat stuck in your pouch (didn't chew enough etc.) if you eat the papaya enzyme it will help break it up so it goes through.  I actually have never had to use mine but others swear by it.

It sounds like you are doing great so far, and with the suggestions made on here already, you should be in great shape.  As far as the blender, it was recommended that I get a "bullet" -- and it has been great!!!  You can find them all over the place.  As far as the appointment -- I think they are still ironing things out with the offices -- glad Brittany caught it!  You're almost there.....!!!  :)

Maybe Crystal Light (or the Walmart generic equivalent if you don't do "straight" water)? That's been my godsend, as well as SF/FF pudding mixes for those days I just could not choke down anything else with my protein powders.

Luckily I LOVE water.  That is all I usually drink but tea and my coffee.  Hopefully I will not have any problems with water after suregery.  Would I mix the pudding mixes with my protien drinks?
