Hi All, I am one month out as of the 14th. (Sat) But just wanted to add a quick update. I am doing pretty well, my emotions have tappered off for the time being .  I am down 32 pounds, I am very happy that they are gone but I feel it should be more.  I  am doing great at getting my protein and water in. It seems that I only feel like eating everyother day. I will try to eat something at my 3 meals but just not wanting it. Do I have to eat even though I don't feel hungry??? I am taking all my vitamins. If I eat when my body is saying yuck. Then I get really nauseous. Just wondering if this is normal or a concern. Hope you have a great weekend. Lanette

Some might say that you should stick to the schedule.  Personally, I listen to my body.  There are day when I have, what I call, the "Pac-Man" syndrome and find myself eatting all day on and off.  Then there's other days when NOTHING tastes right and I end up throwing it out.  I think its very normal for this to happen along with your taste buds changing.  Things you liked will go to your dislike list and vice-versa. Congrats on your progress.  Keep it up!

I have to say I am having the same thing.  One day I can tolerate just about everything and eat thru the day and the next I can't seem to keep anything down or even feel like eating at all .  Thanks for the input. Lanette

Hi Lanette, It is still very early days for you and there will be some days that you do not feel like eating..... BUT it is important that you do fuel your body at regular intervals if you want to keep your metabolism running  the way it should.  So you should be trying to eat some kind of protein every 3 hours and going no longer than 4 hours without it.  32lbs is a tremendous amount - did you ever lose 32lbs so easily before??  At one month out it may be YOUR norm but you could always give your nutritionist or surgeon a call to make sure if you are concerned... Good luck! Jackie

Sounds like you are doing good Lanette.  Pretty normal on the not wanting to eat but you really do need to eat anyway.  If you don't, then you won't get the vits./nutrients that you need, you won't get your metabolism going & your body will go into starvation mode & slow you losing.  Just keep trying, keep your meals easy but flavorful (it helps).  Hope it gets better soon.

Glad you are feeling well and look at your progress so far!  You GO!  :) I was not that hungry in the beginning, but did eat the meals as suggested to keep my body nurished and to give me energy. Don't forget to mention this and the nauseas on your next doctors followup appt.  :)

Good am Lanette, Glad you're doing well. Keep getting in your protein and vitamins. They are life lines. Sometimes its best to go with what the body tells us. There are times when I cannot eat right then but its a combination of figuring out the signs of hunger versus thinking you HAVE to eat "at the 3 meals." It takes time and trial & error. All best!
