virginia beach oh'ers....

hello everyone....  i moved here in mid may.... and this week was finally offered a full time position and I am more than pleased!!      So many good things are to come,  I will have full benefits in 30 days and can then finally have a long overdue check up....I am able to start looking for an apartment (been staying at my sisters, but need my own place) and I will have an income too..... yay!!

So,  I would love to get together with any locals!    Also if anyone can suggest a good local doctor in VA Beach,  Not much of a driver....so would want to stay in VB and not go to Norfolk if possible!      

I also need a dentist, eye doctor, gyn, you name it... lol   AND an apartment....  am not making that much, so it would have to be low rent to start.

Any and ALL advise, suggestions are welcome.... and I would be more than grateful.

Let me know.....   I AM SOOOOO BEYOND THRILLED.  I love it here and want to stay!

While I can't offer any suggestions because I haven't lived in Va. Beach in almost 20 years, I just wanted to say that I am so glad things have fallen into place for you!  Congratulations! 

Awww, thanks Cindy!    I am so happy to finally be back to work.  (NEVER IN MY WILDEST DREAMS WOULD I HAVE IMAGINED SAYING THAT!!)  lol

The company i am working for is awesome.  They provide housing for the disabled, homeless and substance abuse women.....   now, I have fallen into that category myself, but dont think they can offer me housing...lol  (oh, my bad!)     seriously though... its a company to be PROUD to work for, and they do such wonderful things.   Its so great to have a fresh start too.... none of these people ever knew me with a weight issue, its truly refreshing....  after i lost all my weight my relationships with all my co workers felt so strange,  and i know it was mainly my "head" issues, but nonetheless... it was not easy to cope with.

I am excited for you!  It sounds like a great organization, and I know what you mean about the fresh start -- there's a lot to be said for them!  Congrats -- it sounds like you are going to be loving life soon!  :)

Thanks, Lauren!      Yeah... the past 3 years has been a roller coaster of emotions, etc..... I tell you, at one point I was so depressed I didnt want to wake up the next day when I was going to sleep.....   But now I am getting another chance.    I def need to get back on the track with my health too.... been so self destructive lately and I am only hurting myself (and my loved ones!)     Its truly a gift.....  I used to laugh when i heard the expression..."what doesnt kill you, makes you stronger.."  but its TRUE.    Life is precious and I am happy that I want to start living it to the fullest again.. in a happy healthy way!

Jill I am so happy for you! I know it must have been tough to have so much going on and not knowing of you were staying here.  And now you can make some exfiting plans!

So now that you are staying here we hope you will hang around more so we can support you and make you feel a valued member of our little community....

hey jill. i live at the beach. not sure where at the beach u r but if u want to know where i am and the docs i use u can pm me. oh btw welcome to VA. this board is awesome. some of us beach oh'ers do get together for lunch every now and then. where did u get the job. and congrats on getting one.  i have 2 kids but this comin week my son will be at boy scout camp so it will jus be me an my girl. maybe we can meet for coffee.....if u do coffee. jus pm me and let me know. dang, i didnt even introduce myself. i am corinn. i had rny 12-19-2006. i jus had ps on my arms and chest and couldn't be happier. let me know if u wanna go for coffee. can't wait to meet u.
