What a night !!!!

O gee'z......
My night was horrid! I took a pain pill around 4 o clock yesterday and by 7 or so the pain was coming back. Im only supposed to take the pain med every six hours. The pain med requires food and the antibiotic requires to be taken once a day two hours before or after any dairy. I took the antibiotic last night around 9 pm.

Around 9:30 I began having an upset stomach and soon after began dry heaving....NOT FUN!!!
This is how my night went on untill about 1 am when I fell asleep sitting up with a trash can in my lap. I was up at 3 am and again a lil after 5 am.

At about 6am I decided to start drinking some ice water to keep myself hydrated and also prepare myself to be able to eat ( if Im dehydrated food will not go down )...one sip of ice water became 10 minutes of vomiting. I cant even keep donw ice water. I dont know what in the hell to do!

I feel like Im sitting here sick, in pain , and dehydrated... I feel like if they truly dont know what's wrong with me and Im this sick at home by myself I should be admitted...I called and left a message for nurse Boone and I hope she call's me really soon!

I am so sorry you are so sick.  I know it is not fun.  If you are having problems with keeping liquids down you may need to go back to the hospital.  It is not good to get dehydrated.  Try to stay away from foods and find a liquid you can keep down.  I know one of your meds require food in your stomach to take, maybe have milk or one saltine craker.  You may need to get an anti nausea med.  But the vomitting can cause irritation to your stomach.  I just went through something similar last week.  But if dehydrated get back to the ER.

Girl, this has gone on too long! Get yourself back to that ER and don't leave until they fix you!!!!! I'm worried about you - and the longer you let it go on, the worse shape you could end up in. Go MAKE those doctors take care of you

I agree with the others.  You are going to become dehydrated and that is very bad news.  Get yourself to the hospital hon.  Please let us know as soon as possible how you are doing.

I again just left nurse Boone a message and Im really looking forward to her call. I again just tried some water and almost immediatly had to grab the trash can... Im very dizzy and I have also heard that there is a bug going around....Gee'z anything else...

So I know Im going to end up back in the hospital today, Im just hoping that it can be PNH so I can hear from my bariatric docotrs instead of Ft Eustis where they give you a bandaid and send you home....

Brandi,

YOU are in charge of your own health.  You need to go to the ER immediately.  I am sorry if I sound harsh but there is no excuse.  Go to PNH if that is where you want to be seen.  There is obviously something wrong that needs immediate attention.  As post op people we tend to get dehydrated extremely easliy.  You may have a stricture, kidney stones, gall stones or something totally different.  They can give you iv pain meds and anti nausea meds as well as hydration thru the iv.  You need to have tests run to determine what is going on.  The longer you wait, the worse you make things for yourself.

Oh Brandi! I am so sorry to hear that you are not feeling any better. I can not imagine the frustration and pain you are feeling. I agree, like everyone else that the longer this pursues, the greater chance you have of becoming dehydrated, if you aren't already. I would just go to PNH and make them see you. How you are feeling is not how we should be feeling normally.

Please keep us posted on what happens and how you are feeling. We are all concerned and pray for a quick answer!
