Support Groups

Hello everyone,  I was wondering if there are any support groups in the Centreville/Fairfax area other than Metrobariatrics once a month meeting.  Please let me know.  Thank you, Sherry

I am not in your area, either, but also wanted to welcome you.  I am not sure about distance, but our very own Jackie Thodos runs one with Sue Baker in Stafford.  Jackie just had her final round of plastics yesterday but I am sure she will be back on the boards soon.  You can also PM or e mail Sue for info.

You are mnost welcome.  You can visit www.obesityfreedom.com for more info on that meeting.  I went to a function a couple of weeks ago help at Jackie's house and it was awesome.  Jackie and Sue are great and very knowledgeable.  Let me know if you need anything.  We are all here for you!

There is the Staple Club meeting every month at 6:30 p.m.    Meeting is at the Sully Gonverment Center, James McDonald Room, 4900 Stonecroft Blvd., Chantilly, VA  20151.  Directions are easy, from 66, take 28 north to the Westfields Blvd, West.  Take a right at the first light onto Stonecroft & the Government Center is on your left. 

Schedule:

August 11 - Spouse night

September 8 - Orthopedic Surgeon, Peter Bruno, M.D.

October 13 - Emotional Eating

November 10 - Plastic Surgeon

December 5 - 7:00 p.m. - Christmas Party

Hi, Sherry:  Potomac Hospital has a monthly meeting on the first Thursday of the month at 6:30 PM, located in the Education Center of the hospital (drive around the back, it is in the door to the left).  Also, Jackie Thodos and Sue Baker have a monthly meeting in Falmouth (south Stafford) on the second Wednesday of the month in the Community Center on Butler Road at 7:00 PM.  If you need directions for either of these, just PM me and I will be happy to send them along.  I know that Fair Oaks Hospital has a monthly meeting also, but I am sorry, I don't have the details of that one, but I am sure if you call the hospital and ask for their Center of Excellence, someone there will be able to help you with that.  Good luck!  :)
