A     J. O . B  brought me here.  Unfortunately  I was laid off in August, and I needed to find something quick. Me only have to worry about myself, well this opened a wider door to be open to relocating.  I still have my home in Atlanta, because this is a six month contract so who knows they may hire me or they may not, but I will just count my blessings each day and keep it moving.

Due to my current residential location I'm unable to get to a gym in the morning like I'm accustom to doing.  This is a bit frustrating I need to think of something quick because exercise helped motivate me to stay on track with my eating. At home my gym is right across the street here its some miles down....well okay, sorry for venting, but its on my mind.

I started at 292 June 30th, and now I'm 218.   I have six pounds to reach for my 6 month 80 stat goal.

Talk with you soon,
Tracey

I skip real stores and order online - much cheaper, and I order from sites like vitacost.com and netrition.com where they have flat-rate shipping, so those heavy protein containers don't jack up your shipping expenses. The one exception I make is that the Premier shakes from Costco are pretty good for ready-to-drink shakes.

Just to completely butt in here...

Yeah, what Gina said  :)

My office just relocated from Chantilly to Herndon - I still drive through Chantilly on my way to/from work every day. What brought you to the NOVA area?

Not sure if you're still looking since this post is a couple months old, but...

I was going to the offices of Dr. Linda Coleman in Sterling. I was seeing the CNP, Hope Marshall (they also have a male Dr. and male NP, if you're more comfortable with that). They suggested I look into WLS before I was really open to i
t. When I finally got all gung-ho about it and went with the DS, they were open to learning about it since they'd not heard of it before.

Hi Everyone!

I'm a 26 year old mother of three, and I have struggled with my weight since the age of 10. Right now, I'm at 287 lbs, and I'm 6'1. (BMI OF 38) I have hypertension, and GERD. I am having trouble getting this process started, for various reasons. First of all, I can't get a clear answer as to whether or not my Virginia Medicaid will pay for a Lap-Band procedure. Secondly, I would like, if anyone is familiar with the procedure here, to know exactly what I'm in for. Third, I have a doctor who adamantly opposes the gastric bypass, and told me " You'll be dead six months later. People never digest right afterwards. I hate it." Also, I'm very afraid that I won't be approved anyway, due to my mental illness. I have generalized anxiety disorder, depresssion, and bipolar disorder. I do see a pyschiatrist, counselor, and take appropriate meds for these conditions, though. Can anyone who is willing and knowledgable help me make sense of this situation?

Hi Tracey,
I'm currently going to Dr Elariny's support group in Falls Church/Vienna at Fairfax Hospital. His dietitian is pretty new but she's not preachy and listens to us. It's about the only one I know of that has DSrs. Some of us used to go to the Staple Club in Chantilly but I'm not as comfortable there since Sally left. The next Fairfax Hospital group will meet on Jan 4th.  Some of us meet at the Merrifield Swee****er Tavern at 5PM and go over to the hospital from there. Would love to have you join us.

Hi MajorMom,

I just moved from Atlanta Georgia and I"m now currently living in Chantilly, Virginia.

Direct me if you mind to a good support group.  I would really appreciate, thank you.

The wanting, the buying, and the eating are different acts and phases.  Maybe the real issue is what going on that is causing you to revert back to binging on PB cups.  Short of the medicial craving for chocolate ( I have 3 daughters), identifying and dealing with the source(s) may minimize the craving, or is it the adventure of doing something you shouldn't.. If PB cups is the sneakiest thing you do,.....we still love ya!!!

I'm newly sleeved,  Trader Joe is great, there is one in Old Town Alexandria, and near Springfield. There is also a vitamin shoppe in Potomac Yards, that I also use.
