G'day Calligal, I had a blood test done at 10 months and found my B12 was still ok.. even without B12 vitamins, weird huh.. I've decided to buy the injections anyway, because I'm told it makes you feel great and when you do it yourself its pretty cheap ie $12 per month. Matt

B12 is stored in your liver. Its also one of those that might cause issues before it gets caught on a test. Now, most bypass patients didnt have issues until 10-15 years down the road, but still.

shots? *shudder* More power to ya if you can do them i dont think I could unless it was life or death and I had no other options.

I had my 6 month post op blood work done about a month ago.  Everything was good except my B12 was high.  My dr told me to stop taking the B12 suppliments...I told him I was not taking one....so after thinking for a while (after I got home) I checked the label on my new addiction....sugar free Red Bull...it has a whooping 80% of the DA of B12...I have 2 a day...so that would be the source of the elevated B12...so anyone looking to boost your level a little..have a SUGAR FREE Red Bull !!  LOL
