Let Us All Get to Know Each Other :-)
My name is Deanna and I am 37. I am single, no children. I have pets that I adore. 1 dog, Kylie and 4 cats.. Charley, Kovu, Shrek and Fiona. I have pictures of them on my profile if anyone wants to see them.
I am almost 6 weeks out. I have lost 39lbs (16 pre-op). I feel great and am so glad I did the surgery. I am a christian and I love to make jewelry and scrapbooks. I have made some great "friends" on this board and I am very thankfurl for it.
Good night everyone!!!!
Hi my name is Tom and I am married and have three children. My oldest is 25 and my youngest is 8 months...yes months. I am 42 years old and I am a stock broker in Scottsdale, Arizona. I have been over weight for 20+ years and it is just getting worse. I have lost a lot of weight before but always and I do mean always gain it back plus 10 or 15 more pounds. I hate my appearance and find myself disgusting. My little sister had the RNY and my Brother-in-law had the Lap Band. So I guess I just wanted to be different:) .I am pre-op. I am scheduled for surgery on Thursday. I am a very strong Christian.
Any support would be appreciated as I feel I have been bashed a few times on this site and have only been a member for 2 days.
Nice to meet everyone,
Tom
Hi everyone! I'm Amy and I have been married to my high school sweetheart for almost 18 years. I have a 17 y.o. daugher and an 8 y.o. son. I am a stay at home mom and a college student. I'm studying to be a Health Information Technician, which is basically handling all aspects of a patients medical records.
I have had my sleeve for a little over a month and I am so happy that I made the decision to have the surgery. I was a bit of a lightweight, but still struggled with my weight non the less. I was a skinny teenager, but gained a lot of weight after each of my pregnancies. I didn't have any co-morbidities, but refused to wait until I was "clinically" ill to get help for myself. I am so thankful that I was able to get the surgery and finally feel like I have the control over food!!!
It's a pleasure to meet you all!
My name is Bernice. I live in a rural area west of Pontiac Michigan. I am 53 years old and the mother of two girls 33 and 30. The youngest is married and the oldest is hoping "he" will ask. My husband and I ahve been married for 34 years and I am always amazed at the fact we still like each other.
I had my Sleeve on April 9th and am down 35 pounds so far. I have Crohn's disease which seems to have quieted down since my surgery, but one never knows with this disease. I had tried all diets, even exercise and was unable to loose my weight. The doctors told me that I would never be able to have any WLS because of the Crohn's. Well turns out the sleeve is the ONLY WLS surgery that is approved for people with Crohn's. So I am on my journey and so far glad to have had the chance to have the VSG
Bernice
Howdy,
I guess I will put my intro here because Bernice and I are practically neighbors and will meet at a support group meeting next Monday
.
Hi guys,
my name is Que and I live in Pontiac Michigan about a block from Waterford
. I've been at my new residence for 4 months now and LOVE the new neighborhood. I am 43 years old and will be 44 in July.
I am single (probably forever) and have no children due to a hysterectomy at the age of 30. I had the "silicone serpant" (lapband) put in in late 2004. I was dxd with Multiple Sclerosis in 2006 and a few months later wrote my story to the Discovery Health show Mystery Diagnosis and was asked to do a segment because they had never featured a MS story on the show
.
My story was unique because my first MS attack was triggered after I stepped on a crochet hook and punctured my foot. (ouch) By the time they filmed I had gained all of the 50 lbs back that I had originally lost with the lapband, but I am still thankful for the opportunity to make a contribution to humanity. I loved the temporary fame of being stopped in stores and the letters and emails that followed from people who said that my story helped them.
I have Neices and Nephews and come from a very supportive Christian valued family. In my free time I like to crochet, write poetry, FISH (hence the bluegill avatar), and watch the NBA games on television. I also love Music especially oldies.
I look forward to sharing the remainder of my journey with everyone here. You all are a one of the greatest support forums here on OH, no fussin and fightin.
Thanks for allowing me to share,
Que (and the silicone serpant)
