Confession...Need a kick in the buttinski!
You've gotton a lot of good advice so far, and wow amanda. But also, if you don't have enough fat in your diet, then your body has trouble absorbing the fat soluable vitamins such as K and E--thus your body would crave more fat--which PB has plenty.
And this is my holistic preference in things--if you have frequent insomnia, you could try a supplement called Melatonin (sp?). You can find this just about anywhere---Meijer, Wal-Mart, health food stores, GNC. It really does help in the "Can't get and stay asleep" areas.

I have melatonin here....It seems to work for a while then it peters out. But I did try it again last night(this am)...went to bed around 6ish this morning...and got up feeling rested about 12:30 today. I think I will try it again tonite and hopefully get to bed a little earlier.
edited to add...I did get up once....found the PB2....and went right back to bed....so once is so much better then 5 times :-)
WooHootiHoo! I have made it to 109!!!! A total of 190lbs lost!
I have to agree with Amanda, more protein, more fat and maybe 6 small meals throughout the day. Make your after dinner snack a glop of PB. And stop drinking a couple of hrs before you go to bed. I would also try to drink more plain water and less crystal light. Even sweet tastes that are not real sugar make you crave sweets.
Do you take your calcium at night. That might help you sleep better.
Here are some of my favorite healthy fats
olive oil
olives
avacado
nuts, especially almonds
edamame, fresh soy beans, boil them and eat them out of the shell like peanuts
chick peas
sesame seeds
I like the bad fats too, but we won't go there.
Ya, and I heard that sex help you sleep better too?????

LOL @ SEX.....yep they say that's true.
You say that sweet tastes even that are not of real sugar make us crave sweets...I have always wondered about that! Will cut out the drinks before bed.
I am a carb craver anyway and this last week was the pits for the carbs. No weight loss and would not be surprised if I find I have gained by Monday...not steppin on there till tomorrow.
When I am awake I try to eat the PB2...much better for me...so I think I could do some PB2 after supper...and see if someone would hide the real stuff from me....I would rather have my fat I think in my salad.....which I try to have one for supper usually. I think the avacado in the salad would be great. I have never tried edamame...but would like to..where can I find it? Is it in any store?

Sorry to take so long to get back to you but I had my grandson yesterday and he commands all of my attention.
I get them at Trader Joes and some grocery stores have them too. They also come shelled and they are good cooked up with a little salt, pepper and a dab of butter.

Hi Sherri,
I found I need to keep my drink next my bed--I definitely crave sweets when I am really thirsty. So, that way I can have a few really good sips before I get up, and that really helps.
Also, for candy bar cravings, I love the Pure Protein bars--really taste like candy to me. There is a peanut butter one that my friend likes (I haven't tried it since I'm not a big PB fan.). I like the Chewy Chocolate Chip and I LOVE the S'mores. Haven't tried the other flavors. They are a bit high in the carbs, but each bar is 20 g protein. So this would allow you to not feel deprived of candy, get your protein, and, if your hubby continues to bring in the Snickers, you have your own good-for-you stash. Also, if I drink 4-8 oz. before eating the bar, I only eat 1/2 to 3/4 of the bar at a time.

The bars are called pure protein? That is the name brand? Going to see if I can find...I have always wondered about protein bars...but I look at the calories and think...ugh no way. But next to a snickers bar...it probably doesn't compare....lol
Thankyou Pielet!! I could treat myself once or twice a week with one.
