Sherri!!! no kicks here! You know I just love you!
So here's my 2 cents though... WHY are you getting up at night to eat? My guess is it's habbit. You've done this for so long it's a natural response now. So how do you break the habbit? Make yourself sleep all night???
Here's my suggestion. I know you've got exersize tapes out the wazoo at your house. Do something strenuous to wear yourself out. Have a protein shake after... then hit the sack. If for some reason that doesn't work, talk to your Dr about prescribing something non-habbit forming like Lunesta to help you sleep all night. I've used Lunesta before and I'd sleep like a rock. Only used it for a month though and had no troubles after I got off of it.
I know you've done it before and you can do it again! Have faith!
Love ya chickie!!!
I have done this since I was a wee little girl. I can't remember NOT doing this. I have never slept all night like some people do. I don't know what that would be like? Makes me jealous of people who can sleep...lol
Good idea...exercise and protein...:-)
WooHootiHoo! I have made it to 109!!!! A total of 190lbs lost!
Before I was diagnosed with sleep apnea I used to get up many times a night. I thought it was because I needed to go to the bathroom. Turns out it was because I was awake many, many times each night due to OSA. Could you have developed OSA?
Also, you need to ask your family for help. Please don't bring junk food into the house. Get rid of the peanut butter and no more candy bars. If they want that stuff they can eat it outside of the house for a while. They love you and should be willing to help you in that way.
Your protein intake is about 1/2 of what it should be. Go back to the basics that got you where you are- looking gorgeous! Protein, protein, protein and then some good carbs.
Best wishes! And, happy Mother's Day!
What is OSA?? Sleep Apnea??
I get up usually because I feel like I have to use the potty....and that wakes me up. I never feel like I am out of breath or anything? Do you feel like that when you have sleep apnea? It has been suggested before actually but I always refuse to listen....thinking that's not me.
Now when I was heavier...I would definitely wake up out of breath...wake up choking or coughing and I highly suspected then that I had it.
Junk food is leaving the premises today..no more snickers! The PB2 is here for me and the real peanut butter is about gone...so will fix a sammy for hubby today and that will be it!
:-)
Tomorrow is Mothers Day????
My kid just took off to his dads for the weekend. I guess I won't get to see him tomorrow.....:-(

I tend to agree and think the sleep apnoea thing is definitely worth investigating. There are a couple of different types of sleep apnoea and at least one of them you don't actually have to be overweight to have (think it's called central apnoea). I do know that once I got diagnosed and using my CPAP machine that I woke up a lot less during the night.
I wonder if something similiar to what is often recommended for babies/children having trouble sleeping could help also. It's all about having a going to sleep routine. For a young child it might be watch television until a certain time, then bath, then a story, a hug from Mum and Dad and then lights off. The routine shouldn't vary. For an adult maybe you could do 40 minutes exercise, have your dinner, watch television for 1 hour with just a lamp on, have a bath, then a cup of peppermint tea, read for 20 minutes then lights off.
I have read somewhere that you shouldn't exercise too close to bedtime as the endorphins pump you up. By doing it before dinner you have time for the endorphins to decrease and it will also help increase the number of calories you burn at dinner itself. The remainder of the routine should be very calming.
Just my thoughts but I'm sure your well on your way to dealing with the peanut butter fight.
Cheers

Yes, OSA is obstructive sleep apnea. I never dreamed I had it. I didn't snore. My asthma doctor wanted me to have the sleep study. I thought he was crazy! But, I trusted his judgement and did it. Turns out I was not really sleeping much at a stretch. I never felt out of breath. An added bonus to treating my apnea is that my brain works again! I thought my brain had turned to poo because of my age. Apparently it was a lack of oxygen!!! I no longer have to write notes to find my notes! =) And. I rarely get up in the night unless I drink a lot just before bed. It is so nice to sleep through the night. I had no symptoms. Talk to your doctor. Treating sleep apnea is a life saver. Apnea is hard on your heart and just about every other body system due to lack of oxygen.
