Sherri--  I am a complete insomniac because of my fibromyalgia, and over the years I have added melatonin, evening oil of primrose, and valerian root to my prescriptions.  I take them about 30 to 45 minutes before I hit the sack (religiously at the same time each night!), and they really help.  But on the other issue of continually waking up in the night to pee, oh yeah, it was sleep apnea in the worst way.  Since I started using a CPAP machine, I usually only wake up once in the night now and have even had nights when I sleep straight through until morning!  AND when I wake up now, I hardly need to pee at all.  *That's* what real sleep will do -- shut your body down so it can truly rest.  Get a sleep study done if at all possible!  --Dorothy

Omg...I just remembered something. When I was in the hospital this last time....I had to wear the pulseometer because of the anesthesia. I had to be woken up sooo many times by the nurse because my pulse ox would dive down to around 20-30. At one point she made me sit up on the bed because my BP also crashed to 68/30. I couldn't wait to get out of that hospital or get that damn thing off my finger cuz IT was interrupting my sleep. They kept making me deep breathe whenever this happened and it would always go back up...then sure enough an hour or two later...same thing happened. hmmmmm

You have done so well so far.  I'm not sure what you are eating but do you think maybe it is time to up your calories a little to deal with the hunger - then possibly you won't have as much night hunger. Also - maybe more protein drink and of course the old standby more water. Good Luck. Donna
