I have had horrible tailbone and lower back pain for years. I tried everything from a chiropractor to an orthopedic surgeon who gave me 6 cortisone injections and nothing helped. It got to the point that I could only lie on my left side and sitting up was murder. I found this silly thing, and I know that this is sounding like a commercial and all, but I don't work with them, I promise! It's called a Sacro-wedgy. I lie on it for about a half hour before I go to bed and I use it whenever I sit in my desk chair and it has made a WORLD of difference. If I get busy and forget for a day or two, I can feel it, but I was able to stop taking my pain meds and anti-inflammatories. Try googling the name, if you are desperate, it's worth a try!
Ummmm Tara dear.....that looks like a painful spike landing in the area that is tender right now? I read where it has helped tons of people though....just wanted to be sure where your pain is because so far I have not read anyone using it with tailbone specific pain or ****ydynia.
You had tailbone pain or lower back pain?
This may all have started out with my back though? I have had DJD and many many bulging and even ruptured disks when I was big..I even had a compression fracture in my thoracic area. So it is logical that this would really benefit me...but darn it looks painful?? Is it? Maybe I need to pm you...I think I will and ask all of this :-)
hugs and very interested in this....just have more questions

WooHootiHoo! I have made it to 109!!!! A total of 190lbs lost!
I lost my padding around my tail bone too, and for awhile it really bothered me and I used a cushion on almost any chair. But, it is getting better over time. I don't know if this helps or not, but I've been doing yoga and lots of exercises that use the muscles in my backside. The pain is only sporadic now and I only need a cushion if I'm sitting for a long time on a hard surface, like at a softball game on the bleachers. So there may be hope.

Thanks so much for adding your experience...I have been doing some reading on this...and I have read in several places that it can take weeks sometimes months for this to go away. I do have a cut out cushion...and it helps a little bit....so maybe I just need to give this time before I rush into any kind of injections? I have read that the injections can actually injure nerves and tissue over time....but that the injured nerve thing actually does help the pain to lessen.
I will give this a few more weeks...it isn't like I haven't been used to this now for a while...a little while longer won't kill me :-)
thanks again....will wait out for some hope here
