Well, while I think I am a good egg, I don't need to get "layed," you pathetic dumbass.

But I do get laid quite well and quite often, a form of exercise my husband seems to enjoy as well.

As for you, you can just go **** yourself.

Geez, does having or wanting the VSG make you illiterate, especially while lamely attempting to be rude?

There are plenty of people here who are far enough out to know how far their stomach will stretch and none of them can eat 12 oz. at a time.

Can I ask what size bougie YOUR surgeon used? There is no way I could get anywhere close to 12 oz -- even with soup.

I guess all I can point to is the number of people with a smaller bougie at 2+ years (and there are more of them everyday) who do not report ravenous hunger, and who have not reported extreme stretching of their stomach.

Physiologically, the part of the stomach left after VSG with a small bougie has very little stretch. I just do not believe that I can expect to cause non-stretchy tissue to stretch excessively. Plus, I am getting better and better at recognizing when I am full -- before I am overfull, lessening the chance of even minimal stretching.

Again, I think the biggest difference with VSG (at least for me) is that I am not taking in under 1000 calories for a long period of time. Therefore, I am not going into starvation mode and I do not anticipate the instant regain that can be expected when going from extreme low cal for a long time to regular cals.

I'm also not sure that you can compare the band to the VSG. The band does not remove the ghrelin producing part of the stomach. Yes, there are other organs that produce ghrelin, which means it is not completely absent from our systems (which explains my hunger) -- but the level is significantly reduced for those with VSG. Plus, with VSG there is not a significant problem with food getting stuck and the stomach swelling, or the 'new' stomach forming over the band,  and only carby/soft foods going down comfortably. I cannot believe that you truly think the VSG is/will be no more successful than the band. That is hard for me to fathom.

You cannot know whether or not my hunger will increase greatly. It is no more now than it was right after surgery. Even if it does increase, I can just eat when I'm hungry. As long as I choose nutrient dense, healthy foods (as any naturally slim person might), what is the problem? Perhaps it will not be as easy as it is for you with the DS, but it will hardly be hell. :) The biggest issue that VSG has corrected for me is that I cannot eat the quantity of food I did before. I have faith (in physiology and the procedure) that this will not change significantly.

And, truthfully, if it does stretch some I will deal with it. I think, for me, that any further surgery will not be the answer for me. If I need to 'diet' to lose (although I don't consider making good food choices necessarily a diet), then so be it. No, it's not the same as the DS, where it seems I could eat most of the foods I want with few limitations -- but that is the tradeoff I made to avoid the potential problems that could happen with the DS that I chose not to risk.

I refer back to the title of the thread.

what kills me about these people is that they come here citing facts from a flawed study as though it were scripture, yet FREAK THE HELL OUT if you mention anything about any study having to do with bpd.

a study where the bougie size was changed midway, pretty well nullifies the results, and someone *****ADS SCIENTIFIC STUDIES FOR A LIVING should know that best of all.

That would be becaue the BPD is no longer done and is a very different procedure from the DS, you idiot.

let me type in larger text, so that you might understand me.

the facts you use to "prove" that VSG has an inferior long term weightloss are flawed. flawed because they changed the bougie size midway through the study.  in a scientific experiment, which all medical studies are, if you mess with the CONTROL (ie in this case, bougie size) your results become irrelevant.  just as irrelevant as your bpd/ds studies that you get so fired up about.

so please cease and desist being a such an enormous douche.
