How old is TOO old for WLS?????

Since Medicare will pay for WLS, obviously 51 is not too old.  I'm 48, and although I feel like I've lost the past 10 years of my life due to MO, I plan on enjoying the remainder so I'm having surgery.

I will be 51 ''years young" on Tuesday.

I had my sleeve done at the young age of 50............

No  issues or pains.

I feel better and more youthful now than I did in my 20's and 30's...........

Hi,
I had my surgery about two weeks before my 62nd birthday.  I was taking 11-1/2 pills a day for diabetes, high cholesterol and high blood pressure.  I've lost 60 pounds, and 10-1/2 of those pills.  My blood sugar is normal with no meds at all.  My blood pressure is normal.  I feel better than I've felt in 10 years.   One of the "young" men of 52 at work the other day told me I was a fox.  My recovery from the surgery was totally without incident.

I had just turned 54 the month before my VSG surgery. Best thing I've ever done for myself!!! I had a c-section 21 years ago, and this was easier to recover from. My sense of smell has changed dramatically, however. Everything smells WONDERFUL, even my students! Very strange.

I've lost 40 lbs. in 2 months and am thrilled with the compliments from friends and co-workers. 40 more to go!

Don't be afraid! Just do it!
