I didn't have any pain to speak of in the hospital (morphine pump).  I did have them send me home with Roxicet because the lortab didn't help at all after my lap-band surgery.

Good luck!

It seems that the docs in the states use narcotics, where mostly I see the doctors that perform surgery in Mexico use primarily Toradol (a non-steriodal anti-inflammatory- like motrin). I have to say, the Toradol worked great and I needed nothing stronger. When having traditional "open" surgery... I have really needed the strong stuff too. The laparoscopic procedures are WAY easier on the body.

ps... I wonder if people that suffer more with gas pains post op are taking narcotics vs non-narcotics. Any narcotics will slow down activity in the GI tract. I really didn't suffer from gas after this surgery.

I had something in the hospital, have no idea what it was. Stopped it the night of surgery, I had no pain. Came home with lortab(liquid vicodin) bever used it. I was in over night never took any meds after that. no pain no nausea no gas or acid issues. so far its been perfect.

I have just the opposite probelm I have a fear of getting addicted to meds so I won't take them unless i am dying. it was a breeze to eb honest

Hi Vicky and Welcome....

Well I had a personal morphine pump where you push the button to administer to yourself thru the IV however, I never needed it not once. I had no pain, now everyone is different but I had none when I came home they prescribed a liquid vicodine which I never needed either.

My stay was two nights in the hospital.

I just want to say you are going to love the sleeve it is the best I can not say enough great things about it. So good luck on your journey and no matter what if you have pain it will all be worth it in the end I promise.

Cheers

My stay was different as I was in Mexico. I checked into the hospital on Monday AM, had surgery and left Thursday am. I am glad I had the 2 days but it was included in my $9500 I paid. They gave me something by IV and then when I was leaving I took sublingual supradol. I did well enough that I didn't finish my last 2 supradol.

Good luck!!! :)
