Posting on the Medifast Blog

LOLOL

I have to tell ya...I wasn't real thrilled with the medifast blogspot when I initially did the program in 2007 and today...well let's just say I will never be the most welcome there.

Most of the Medifasters are doing that program as the last ditch effort prior to surgery..LOL..so was I in 2007. So here I come along and have had a surgery and am doing the program again...LOL let's just say I am a constant reminder to them of what might be I guess.

I don't feel the warmest welcome there..but there are a few left from 2007 still plugging away at it or who have done it and are hanging on for dear life...but they are special to me and I still talk them in real life.

One lady posted about someone  dying from gastric bypass and of course made a big deal out of it as a reminder of what might happen if they don't stick to the program and stay away from surgery...I am not quite that much of an alarmist but she had quite a following...

I once felt that way....not anymore though...

Oh well...can't be loved by everyone! Thank you for welcoming me here though!

love and hugs from one vsg'r to another!

Beth

I've done Medifast and Optifast mulitple times in the past, with very good results.  That is, until I hit my goal and didn't go through the maintenance phase.  I tried going back for my pre-op diet, but I just can't stand that soy protein taste any longer.  When I walk in the place it hits me.  I guess I've just become over-sensitized to it.  I even bought some dry roasted endamame thinking that would be a good snack, but when I opened the bag, it hit me.

I'm switching to Nectar (whey based) to try and do the pre-op thing.  After one glass, I can tell you that I don't love that either.  Man, the liquid phase after surgery is going to be hard for me to get in the protein.

Psst... Nectar has some soy in it. Maybe that's the problem for you?

I read from one of the regulars here about protein coffee, and let me tell you, I love it!  You mix one scoop of Nectar Cappuccino with 4 oz. of skim milk(you can't mix powder with hot because it gets clumpy).  Then you pour your cup of coffee into the mixture, I nuke it 30 seconds because I like my coffee hot, and voila! It's very tasty.  I have one for breakfast every morning.  Try it Robert P.

it's funny looking back to when I was trying to decide if I should have WLS or not. it seemed so extreme.

now it just seems normal.

thank GOD I am a post-op!

once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.

PM me if you are interested in either of these.

I agree!

I was reading an interview with Joelle, from The Biggest Loser, who said she went on there to avoid a Gastric Bypass and I thought -- should have had the bypass, lady!

We'll always be here for you Beth!

Joelle needs something - even therapy. She didn't want to be there, wasn't motivated or anything.
