Need a nice jump on the scale???

We had our surgery at about the same time. . . mine was Nov. 6, 2008. I have lost 93 pounds, but I have been very sick. . . at 5 wks. got severely dehydrated and had to go back in the hospital. 2 EGD's later, I'm fine, but it has been a rough road.
Are you very strict about what you eat? I am. Also last week I got discouraged a little cause I was stuck at 88 pounds, and then 5 days later, I lost 5! Everyone's different. . . don't get down. You're going the right direction!

Honestly, I think you are doing fine. You started out at the size I am now, lol, and I think you have done great for having so little to lose (relatively speaking, of course).
What can you do to jolt your loss? I dunno, you could do the 5 day pouch test, or add extra cardio to your workout routine.
And no, you are not supposed to be at goal by 6 months. You are not really 'supposed' to be anywhere by any time, unless your doctor tells you so. Some people are lucky enough to get there, but you don't need to worry about them.
Try not to get too frustrated, you're doing great!

I feel the same way-I had surgery 3 months ago and have lost 32 lbs. That is only 10lbs a month which I could have done without surgery (I have done this). And I am so frustrated with the "how are you eating question"! I can take a few tablespooons of food and than I am full, and living this insane low fat low carb everything feels like every other diet I have ever tried and failed at. It boggles my mind that I could go from eating 3000 or more calories a day to the less than 1000 and have it barely make a dent in the weight. And I know everyoen says exercise but I have read numerous studies that point to longterm diet change as the factor in weight loss, so if I'm not jumping on a treadmill every day but eating right, than activity is not the key. I feel very discouraged b/c the most weightloss occurrs during the first six months and so far, all surgery has done is cost me a lot of money and time from work...

I am almost 9 months out. I met my surgeon's goal last month and am now trying to reach my goal. Even being a painfully slow loser, I have NEVER regretted having this surgery. I am losing!
Now, let me tell you some of the positives of being a slow loser:
1. My inches dropped drastically...even though the pounds dropped so slowly The difference from before surgery to the second month post-op was incredible! I went from a 20W to a 14 in those first 2 months.
2. I never suffered any hair loss...a good thing since I have always had very fine, very thin hair that got thinner with age.
3. I have no sagging skin, no bat wings, no apron (just a small pouch above my c-section scar which is taken care of by spanx when wearing form fitting things), no turkey neck and my boobs don't look at the floor.
4. I've had no gallbladder issues.
5. Since I lost so slowly in small amounts, I had no stalls and only one plateau that asted only a week ****il the last two months...now I lose one week, nothing the next, repeat).
I know it is hard to see everyone else lose so much so fast....I've been there and suffered the frustration too. It is hard to remind yourself that everyone is different and this is your journey. It is normal to be envious and to wonder why you can't also be a fast loser. Some of us are just cursed to lose slowly and with extreme difficulty. All we can do is stick to the program, celebrate each NSV and SV no matter how small (keep a personal journal of these) and keep telling ourselves that we will get there. We will. I had moments where I was very low and extremely frustrated but a veteran slow loser, Leslie, was always around to tell me that I would do it. And as dear Ms. Shell always told me, "This is not a race."
Please feel free to connect to me as a friend and read my profile. There are posts were I expressed my frustration and feelings of failure. You will have to ask to be my friend as my profile is private. And, if I can ever help or encourage you, please feel free to PM me. Please hang in there...YOU will lose it but maybe not as fast as you'd like to...it will be on your body's time schedule.
Are you talking about normal blood sugar or normal insulin level? Your insulin level can be way to high even though your blood sugar is normal.
