You're very welcome.  You did not get good advice.  How many sleeves has your surgeon done?  You may want to print that out and bring it along to your next appointment.  Maybe you can save some future patients from suffering.

I had 1/4 c. of ricotta cheese tonight and that felt like a lot.

ya know...our urgeons are awesome with the knife but don't know what it's like to have sleeve.

I'm 8 weeks out and there is no way in the world I can get in 3/4 of a cup.... at your stage I was getting in 3 t spoons in an hour...and only 3 times a day....... all my food way puree, and all of it was very very wet and slippery....you have no natural perastalsis in your stomach...it cannot move through on it's own, and your new stomach cannot break it down...so you need to do the work for it...puree/blend/moist (and I mean saucy type foods) ONLY for a whhile....and EVENTUALLY...like in a year...you will get a cup in at a time...not now ya poor thing. Ouch...that must have been agony.

Your food probably isn't really stuck in your stomach, btw. When you feel that tightness in your chest and sometimes a pain around the breastbone, that's from food spilling out of the stomach into the esophagus. It's not a good thing to stack food in your esophagus like that so you should stop eating well before you feel that.

1 cup of food is a RnY thing and even then it's only much farther out when they can eat that much. Hardly anyone with a sleeve can eat a cup of food at a time. I'm 8.5 months out and I got a small chili at Wendy's tonight and could only eat half of it (about 1/2 c.) and was stuffed, stuffed, stuffed. I probably should have stopped sooner, but I wasn't paying attention.

Sweet mother of GOD....what a sin

I know each Dr is different.......but that sounds just CRUEL.

I was 10 days clear fluids
10 days full fluids
10 days mushies

My goodness......BACK AWAY FROM THE FOOD........go to clear liquids and start there.

Shakes my freakin head !!

Good Luck Linda

Her doctor obviously had little to no experience with the sleeve.  He needs a whipping with a wet noodle.  She was only following his WRONG directions.

I agree with everyone else. I could only eat a few bites of food when I started on full foods (which was a month out for me, and veggies is certainly in that category no matter how much you chew it). I still can't eat a full cup of food at one time and I'm 2 yrs out. I can only eat 3 to 4 ounces and that just depends on what sort of food it is. I could probably only eat 2 oz of steak, but more of oatmeal.
I hate to tell someone not to listen to their surgeon, but it really sounds like you should follow what the link posted above says. Otherwise you might stretch out your opening (where the esophagus meets the stomach) because you're having food settle there because you're getting too full.

I'm back before I went to bed last night I had a cup of peppermint tea and work up without the food in my belly .   Can or should  "you" eat a 6 oz. container of yogurt at one sitting?  I haven't eaten yet and would like it, but not sure to eat the whole thing...

thanks, Linda

Actually, yes, with yogurt, right now i could eat a container full. Only because it goes through so fast, and I don't eat it fast. Anything thicker and I couldn't eat that much at a time.
At your stage, I wouldn't have been able to eat a full container, and I wasn't eating any solid foods. The consistency had to be about like pudding or yogurt, or even cottage cheese, but not veggies, or meats. I was able to move onto the "real" foods at 4 weeks out.
