Hi everyone,

I'm 3 1/2 weeks out.  Every time I try to take my multivitamin - I experience horrible nausea.  I'm taking Celebrate brand multi-vitamin capsule.  I'm allergic to the chewables because they have artificial coloring in them.  Anyone experience nausea from vitamins?  Any suggestions?  I think I'm getting weaker and weaker because I'm not taking them.  Thank you!

I always have to take vitamins with milk or food or I get very nauseous.  I'd say try to spread them out over the day with food when possible.

Can you try to take half at a time? I am pretty bad about remembering to take them.

I don't think you will get weaker from not taking vitamins in just a few weeks - it generally takes awhile for deficiencies to show up. unless you had them pre-op. what are you drinking for protein? that will also have vitamins in it. I lived on Syntrax Nectars for the first few months & still have one most every day.

I don't think I took a vitamin for a least a month, I was on liquids & pureed foods mostly.

experiment. it may be just the iron that is making you sick & you could take one without iron (for awhile)

I am 14 months out and get a very minor twinge of nausea with my B complex sometimes, but the multi never bothered me.

when in doubt, ask your doctor or nut.

once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.

PM me if you are interested in either of these.

i am 6 weeks out and i can't take B-complex at all - makes me yak.....  i've tried a couple different kinds and i still can't keep 'em down...  my multi's and the B-12 are no problem

if you are feeling weak as you say, you probably should call your doc....

LOL. I just posted about the B-complex issue. I can't choke mine down, either. All of my other vitamins are ok, but the B-complex is horrible.

I just found these childrens chewables online that don't have artificial color...

I can take all kinds of vitamins except my multi, the multi has to chewable or else it makes me nauseated. I use Flintstones myself.

Hi Jen - I just had to tell you.  The vitamins came today.  They are large green tablets (size of a quarter) and they smell as horrible as they look!  LMAO!!!  I feel really bad for any kids whose parents are making them take these!  LOL!  I went and got myself some good ol' flintstone chewables and am going to risk the allergic reaction to the color/flavoring!  :-)
