How long was the area around your main incision sore?

!4 days out and my incisions are all doing fine. I've tried to be careful to not lift anything heavy. My doc was VERY specific that I not try to lift anything heavier than 10 lbs for a full 4 weeks.

That being said, I WAS having pain around the drain tube site. I got it removed last Thursday and it was hurting pretty bad both Thursday and Friday. The docs said everthing was fine...just might have jogged it a bit.

Good luck and know that you do need to rest and take care of yourself. I know ...it's easier said than done. My friends are constantly after me to rest, rest, rest.

Hey Mark,

I did the same thing - I was loading groceries, picking up my two year old, running around, even golfing too early, and my main incision got pretty sore.  It's normal, and it'll get better soon.  It took about a month for me to stop being sore - and it was because I was doing more lifting, bending, etc than I should have been.

Take it easy on yourself!

Thanks for that, PFM.  Yeah, I knew it was going to be sore for a while.  It's just the fact that it seemed to REGRESS to an earlier stage of more severe discomfort that had me nervous. Made me think I had torn it up again. But I feel better now knowing you had the same experience (for probably the smae reasons - being overeager  -- and it all went away eventually.  Thanks.
