Ladies - period, the pill, contraceptives post surgery

I am curious about your comment that your post-surgery "period" is the left-over surgery blood.  I asked my friend who is a gynecologist and she said that could not be possible.  Your vagina and uterus are a totally separate body cavity.  She said it is due to hormone changes because of the shock of surgery to your body AND/OR  - sort of related - the estrogen in your fat cells as the other poster mentioned.

I have not had my sleeve yet but I spoke to my OBGYN and asked her what to expect she gave me some information as did my other drs caring for me.

It might just be my body as I have had other organs removed as well as some 'female' surgeries under my belt.

But as far as I have ever heard or delt with stress (for the most part) does not cause your cycle but its well known to stop it or stall it for a while.

As stated before it could vary well by my own body. Best of luck to you and yours.

God bless our troops
