Reducing scar appearance

Any recommendations on creams to reduce scar appearance? I've never been cut or injured in any way to have a scar before this, so any hints on what to do are appreciated. Also I have pretty sensitive skin and have been known to get rashes from some things, but usually things like face cream though.

The best thing for my scars has been allowing them to get tanned...when the tan fades, they fade to flesh color rather than red. I waited 6 months tho to let sun/fake tanner hit mine. I read something about how sun can be bad on fresh wounds.

I also use vitamin E concentrate which is said to be good for scars.

Do these work? In dunno yet...its only been 6 months. But as a Tom Boy I have all sorts of battle wounds that are hidden pretty well.

Well I had my sleeve in Feb 08.

I was worried about my scars but never did anything or put anything on them.

I neednt have worried you cant even see them now!

I'm 4 months post-op and I never did anything to the scars but they are barely noticeable. When my kids pull up my shirt to see the scars they ask me where I put them because they can not find them.

I've used scar zone after previous surgeries, and was told my the doctor at follow-up "you heal really well."  I've already started putting in on my incisions.
Band to sleeve revision.  Please add me as a friend to view my profile.

I disagree with the tanning thing keep them out of the sun until they are really white then you can tan them. I just had plastic surgery and they reccomend cocoa butter and they also have you buy this stuff called kelocote it is a silicon gel it is expensive and I don't know if it really works but I bought and and I am using and my scars are much less noticable but I do alternate one day cocoa butter and one day kelocote cuz it is about 90$ for a large tube you can order it on line just google kelocote.
Best wishes

I rub a little cocoa butter on mine after a shower, its the same stuff they sell for stretch marks and I had a bottle left over from my pregnancy. Seems to work well... wi****'d do the same for my stretch marks! lol Carrying twins did a number on my tummy, the tiny surgery scars are the least of my concerns. :)

I have lots of huge scars. I use Mederma and vitamin E oil. Will let you know how it works.

My doc said absolutely no sun on the scars and they will fade on their own.  Can't hurt to try to a few creams though...  good luck!
