Let me introduce you to the Rants and Raves board

And this doesn't mean I agree one way or the other with health care reform, it only means I agree it doesn't belong on this board. It's not the place.

I'm going to end up blocking quite a few people.. just because sometimes ya just don't need toxins in your life... Who cares if they're nice 90% of the time... True colors sometimes get shown in those threads... and it's like, "Would I be friends with this person in real life?"

and the answer, usually in cases like this.. is no.
So blocking them makes your life much more stress free..

and I DARE most of them to go spewing their vitreous words on rants and raves...
dare them.

Yep, I agree! It's pretty shocking what people will say! Eek! I stopped reading it - there are things I just don't want to know and don't need to read.

And, I agree - it's just not the place! Take it to the other board.

 I am going to have to go check out this Rants and Raves forum. I'm interested to see if there's any real debate going on there.

I got all pissed off reading one of these inflammatory posts yesterday and am not proud to say I posted something equally inflammatory in response. But my true opinion is, regardless of your political/religious leanings, I feel that we all have something of value to offer each other within the scope of this board or we wouldn't be here. 

So, to those of you *****ported the threads: THANK YOU!!

The internet is full of blowhards empowered by the easy anonymity offered by message boards.  OH is unfortunately no different, and the mere fact that we've had WLS does not elevate any of us to a higher level of wisdom or sainthood than before.  Telling a troll to stop trolling may make you feel better (and be the "right" thing to do) but won't change the troll's state of mind.  Trolls exist to boost themselves at your expense.  They get off on being important enough to you to upset you, for whatever weird and neurotic reasons they may have.

I agree completely with your larger point:  this particular forum is for our mutual support regarding VSG.  Those who wish to discuss other matters can raise their blood pressure elsewhere.

 Just took a peek at the R&R board and it's the perfect place for what usually ends up here!
So glad to see we have that now
