I never thought THIS could happen

I am soooooo sorry this is happening to you. Let's be hopeful things will turn for the better very soon.

What an awful thing to happen...!!
I am at a loss for words to try and comfort you, but Please, know, that my heart hurts with you...!!
Don't lose hope...there has got to be something that can be done...Ask your surgeon what the next step is...Don't just let him tell you he could not do this surgery...There is something...!!!
You have paid $15000.00 for WLS...Don't let them walk away with your money and no surgery or answer for the next step...!!

What about open surgery...??? It could be your next step...Just a thought.

I am so sorry to hear about this. This seems odd for me only cause my PCP made sure I had a ultra sound to double check how much of my liver and other organs would or might be in the way. I was not self pay and my insurance is covering my surgery.

Your surgeon kept your money? There was a girl who they could not do surgery on when I was down for my surgery and they gave her back her money. They went in and found she had some sort of liver problems and they did not want to do surgery until they knew the extent of it and if it was serious or not. She stayed at the clinic for 2-3 days too.

Well the effed up thing is I had soooo many tests pre-op I was sure everything was good to go. Including an ultrasound. I rember the tech couldn't find something in me though and she asked if I had my gallblader removed... I told her no, and she said she couldn't find it.
That was the last I heard of it.
I've been in touch with the hospital and surgeons office today to fond out about how to recoup some of the funds or to be able to apply them to a future surgery as I still want WLS. Unfortunatly it will be weeks before i hear anything. I do have a follow up on the 1st so I will see what happens then.

My surgeon did say he thought it might be a diaphragm hernia but couldn't really say without a ct scan. They did not open me up but I will bring that up at follow up. I'm trying to keep my head up and be positive and all the kind words definitely helps!! Thank you all so much! It really means the world to me to have support from this communtiy of people who know how devastating this is. Again thank you! I will keep you all posted.

huggies redcreamsoda hun, boy this sucks, im really shocked they could at least doing a different type of surgery on you, when i went in i was suppose to get rny, but my tubes were to short to re route, so dr foote decited to give me a sleeve, i was totally surprised i had a diff wls then i planned on, but its turned out to be the best thing that has ever happened to me, I LOVE MY SLEEVE, its done me right so far, somethings must of been really messed up in you if they couldnt change your surgery, dont give up hun, but make sure you get answers NOW, and let them know you want surgery ASAP....gotta beable to do something right away.....everything will turn out great hun, just dont give up, DEMAND THINGS, JUST DONT ASK....take care sweetie pie........tracy.  

I am soooooo very sorry.  I can only imagine how upsetting this is.  Please try to keep positive.  I am sure they will be able to fix it and do your surgery.  I will pray that this will be just a bump in the road for you and things will work out for the surgery and your finances.  Wishing you all the best!!

WOW! That is just awful. I am so sorry that this has happened. I hope that someone can fix the problem and maybe you can do the surgery in the future.
