Trader Joe's & Costco
This weekend I'm going shopping out of town, and I'll be able to hit Trader Joe's and Costco. So I'm pre-WLS and know I've read plenty of posts talking about favorite protein products, vitamins, etc. available at these places.
Please tell me what you recommend or like. I just won't be able to pick anything up that has to be refrigerated or frozen. Surgery is coming up fast. OMG!

Sadly being in Canada, we don't have Trader Joe's...*sniff*... but at Costco they have the Premier brand proteim shakes. I think I would have literally died without them. They have 30 grams of protein, 3 gram fat and 5 grams of carbs. And only 1 gram of sugar.
They taste, well, I wouldn't say they are "fabulous" or anything but they are good. I have read others on the board that really like the taste. It's worth the try. They are premixed and they don't have to be refrigerated but they really taste better cold, IMO.
Oh and our Costco just started carrying Greek Yogurt. That is the best!! 20 grams of protein for 175 ml. Love love love it.
I also buy some of my supplements there, like B12 and vitamin D.
Have fun shopping!

Where are you in Canada that you can get Greek yogurt at Costco? I buy it in the US...but they don't have it at mine (yet??). Is it the flat of individual serving ones? Blueberry, strawbery and Peach??
Please say it is so!! I will go RIGHT to my costco and tell them if so that yours is selling it and get them ON IT!

Right after surgery I used the gummy vitamins for adults. It was far better than the liquid vitamins I bought because I couldn't tolerate the taste. Cans of vegetarian re-fried beans and the organic chicken broth are both go go-to items. For the mushy stage, Coach's Oats. Also I use soy milk and buy mine by the case. It is not refrigerated. Take your cooler filled with ice if you want to by refrigerated stuff. The Jarlsberg Lite sliced cheese is yummy and 7g protein and 2.5g fat, 50 cal. It is great protein source rolled up with a slice of turkey or ham.
I'm not a TJs fan, I like plain simple food. I don't want mango in my tuna salad, I want celery. I don't want weird stuff, I like plain and simple. I am of no help so why am I posting? ;o)
I would strongly urge you to buy protein products at GNC. If you don't like them you can return the opened containers for a full refund within 14 days. You'll go through a lot of products until you find what you like.
