Anyone else eating like it's their "last meal" pre-op???

OMG--I am thinking about and ate much more with dinner and of course snacks.  I start my 1 wk pre-op liquids next Monday the 22. Going to Thanksgiving  dinner at my brother's house--he does not know about surgery and I will probably not tell him--this will be somewhat of a problem to pick.  He encourages everyone to eat and take it home so he has no leftovers to tempt him--he is obsessed with only eating salad for lunch and very little otherwise.  He would not understand my having this surgery and he is the type to make unsupportive comments and not understanding when he is called out on them.  Don't have other holidays to deal with as he will be out of the country.
Sorry to ramble.

I gained 10lbs during the 6 weeks before surgery.
I went on a tour of restaurants.
Including: Red Lobster- (lobster dish, of course)
Bonefish ( scallops and shrimp-lemon butter sauce)
                 Carrabas (buttery chicken something)
                 Texas Roadhouse (ribeye)
                 Krispy Kreme (3 regular doughnuts)
Mimis Cafe ( lobster ravioli and bread pudding with whiskey sauce)
and of course, for my "grand finale"
                 Pizza Hut, (deep dish, pepperoni)

It took 2 weeks on the pre-op diet to lose those ten pounds.
Thinking back on this reminds me of how very much I need my sleeve.  It would take me 3 or 4 meals to eat any one of those meals, post-op.  Also, the thought of bread pudding and doughnuts is gross to me, now.  They would  be way too sweet,  heavy, and greasy, though I think my sleeve could process them a little bit at the time.  So far, there has been nothing I "can't" tolerate, just things I do not want to waste my eating on.
I am getting a crush on my sleeve.  I can't believe I ever had buyer's remorse.  I can be such a wimp, sometimes.

I am so glad I am not the only one!  If I eat one more last meal, I think I am going to burst. I had great intentions of starting to lose weight beforehand and really start to change my habits, but the more I thought about it, the more cookies seem to evaporate.  Which is pretty amazing since I really didn't eat cookies until I realized I wouldn't be able to eat them (at least for a long time).
I will be glad when I am sleeved and I have to change my habits; I want to be healthy and have a healthy relationship with food.  Mourning food; can't wait until I think about something other than what I ate, what I am going to eat, glad I didn't eat something, feeling bad that I did.  It is alot of work.  Guess that is why I am here.....

omg...yes! I had a bucket list! we went to restaurants and ate like there was no tomorrow! I kid you not...we brought home a dozen donuts, cake, cookies and every other snack that I have always loved, the two weeks before my two week pre-diet, and I ate every bit of it!! I GAINED 20lbs in that two weeks, that's how bad I was!! it took me to my highest weight of 404, and I was so ashamed. but I dont look back and feel bad now..Im enjoying life again and down 74lbs since the two week diet. This surgery is fantastic! I have always been a foodie. I eat because I love it plain and simple..this surgery restricts what I can eat, so it controls me. That's a miracle to me.
I think alot of us can relate to food funerals!

Oh honey, live it up!
I'm almost one week out from VSG surgery, and let me tell you, food from the outside world smells so good! I had a dream last night that I went to Ruths Chris Steak and had a fully loaded beaked potato and a petite filet. And then I woke up to my protein-powder breath and realized - it was just a dream.
Obviously, I'm so happy to be sleeved and getting healthy.
But I'm thrilled to know some one out there is getting to eat something delicious.
Enjoy yourself!
