Did your hunger ever go away?
Sorry to say I still get very hungry every 3 hours. I wish I was one of the people who had to remind my self to eat but I did not get that lucky. But there is a difference now when I am starving I know I can not eat much so I have to pick what I eat.
And my old stomach would just want anything and I could eat for ever lol. But now I know when I eat I get full fast so I am careful on what to pick. I know a half a sandwich will fill me up so much that I do not need any other food. I love being able to eat small. This is the best gift I ever gave my self.

Hi - I am 3 1/2 months out and I still get hungry. I never lost that hunger feeling. I even asked my doctor if he was sure he took enough of my stomach out. He laughed. I am like you tho that I will eat and be completely full and then an hour later I feel like I'm starving again. I'm glad to know it's not just me :(
I'm 4 weeks out today and can honestly say I that I never feel hungry but I almost always feel thirsty. I don't know if this is something that will change or not but unless I make an actual plan of what I'm going to eat during a day, I'm lost and would need to be reminded to eat. Mind you, I have about 10 more days until I get to eat solid food. I'm still on protein shakes, soups, etc. The soups I don't mind but my tolerance for protein shakes lessens a bit each day. I truly don't think this has any difference in my hunger though as I really feel sated all day.
Of the 2 or 3 times I have felt hungry, I figured out real quick that, for me, it was thirst I was feeling. A little drink of crystal lite and I was good to go!

it seems i get hungry at night while watching tv, so i'll have healthy snacks like cheese, deli meats carrots. but the fact that a little amount feels me up makes me happy
I'm 3.5 mos out, and my hunger never went away. I get hungry three hours after eating, I can practically set my watch on it. Even though I've been losing weight right along, for the longest time it was worrying me, until the other day I found the VSG maintenance board, where at least half a dozen maintainers said the same thing - they eat about every 3 hours. I think it's a function of the restriction - we can only eat so much, and it seems to last us about three hours. WHAT we eat determines whether we continue to lose or should move to the maintaining phase (which I'm a long ways away from.) Two things that work for me: (1) listen to what the successful ones do, and incorporate what works for me, and (2) check out the maintainers board!
I unfortunately have to agree with some others on the board. I am 5 months out and I'm hungry ALOT...I also need to eat every 2-3 hrs. and I'm scared because my weight loss has really slowed way down..only 5 lbs lost in last 2 months. I am no longer taking PPI. Maybe I should start up again? I was on prevacid before. I fill up quickly but then I'm hungry again. I also know I am probably eating too many carbs. I just am to a point I am not really sure what to eat because I'm hungry so often..any suggestions would be great. I am probably only getting in between 60-70 grams protein rarely have I gone over that...I'm trying to keep positive but its hard when you have 40 lbs left to lose and feel like you may be losing that window of opportunity everyone talks about..
The window only closes if you close it girlie. You can choose if you WILL eat more. Because you CAN does not mean you HAVE TO.
All I can say, from the answers to my poll this morning is, if you DO take that PPI again - maybe up fiber/miralax/prunes, something - because folks who took it prior to surgery and did not have constipation issues seem to be (at least the ones who have shared) constipated afterward.
Chin up! time does not run out and your old tum comes back! Hooray that its not a cinderella punkin like that! :}
