Hi ... thats exactly where mine is. This is just a nightmare for me. How was your recovery afterward? Your leak just healed on its own?

Yes, it healed on it's own, in my above reply to Carmelita I wrote out my timeline. It is a hard road, so hard to focus on anything else while you are just waiting for it to heal. I was out of work for 4 months, with no benefits as I work on call hours. At home, I had a 1.5, 3.5, and 5.5 year old, and a husband with a challenging work schedule and hours. We relied on a lot of help from family, friends and neighbors. It was a dark time for me, but I grew tremendously through it and in hindsight, I wouldn't take it back, it has shaped the person I am today. It sounds cliche, but it is true for me.

Now I am 100%. Feel great. At goal, 133 lbs, down 110 pounds from my highest weight. And I have never had to really work at it. Sometimes I wonder if my tummy is extra small since it was empty for 4 months. Because I have great restriction, but can eat anything I want.  I am still happy I had the surgery. I know it was very hard to hear others say that when I was going through my situation, but it is true.

I will be following your story, it sounds like you have had a really hard road your entire post op time, I hope things improve and that tiny little hole seals right up.

I'm currently in the hospital as off this morning I found out I have a leak. My doctor to me I had two options, either the spent or leave it to heal on its own but I have to get a pic line. I'm laying here so sad and so confused and so far I haven't read or watched anyone's YouTube testimonials that was happy while having in the stent so I am totally against that. How long will it take to heal on its own? Wat are these tubes and drains you guys speak of? How will the not eating and letting the leak heal on its own work in simple terms? Please help I have to wait for my surgeon to come in tomorrow to answer my questions meanwhile I'm worried and sad in my hospital room

Sorry to hear about your leak.  I'm new to obesity help.  Got a leak 8 days post op.  Still at home on tpn and drain tube.  Your where talking about how they where going to try the fibrin glue.  How is that working?

Sorry to hear about yours ...

1. Fibrin glue did not work for me ...

2. There is an innovative endoscopic suturing technique that I had done on Monday of this week ... it did not work b/c my fistula is too big ... the sutures took it from 8mm in diameter to 2mm ...

3. I will likely end up with a stent being placed next week for 2 months ...

I'm on my 4th surgery/procedure/operation ... I'm looking at at least 4 more ... this is an incredibly depressing and disheartening situation. I wish you all the best.

For those that have had leaks; how did you know you had one?
