Hello all,

Being 2 months out, I swear I can eat more.  I actually have to work at it not to over eat.
Sometimes I feel like I want to be back in surgery ( weird huh)  when I remember I could eat
very less and feel full.  Like last night, I had my 750 calories in ****ep track in my fitnesspal.com)
and I wanted to eat late at night. ughhhhhhh.  Is this what they call "Head Hungry"  Well I am finding at night I just want to munch like I use to.  Also, at meal times, I can certainly eat over my sleeves capacity. I have and I am like uh OOOoooOOOoo.  I have had too many uh OOOooOooo`s in the last two weeks that I think or I feel afraid of being stretched.

I try not to eat over 4 oz but lately I find myself adding a strawberry and a lil vegtable to the 4 oz like another oz.  It didnt occur to me to cut some of the 4 oz down.  So of coarse I am going to put myself down and i dont want to do that.

Todays goal is not to go over 4 oz per meal or snack time.

What is everyone else doing in Volume Amount at 2 months out or what did they do at 2 months out....  do you remember?  I am curious!  Thanks a Bunch ahead of time!

wow then I am overeating for sure!  now I feel scared that i stretched. I read somewhere not to eat over 4 oz per meal.  Those support groups i go to okayed the 4 oz.  ok then today i will eat 2 oz meals.  thanks a bunch

PS: how many times a day did you eat at 2 and 3 months out?

Edit:
2 oz is not working for me and I am now past that.  I need 3 or 4 oz now per meal
I eat 3 to 4 times a day mostly 4.  At three months out
my doctor wants me to eat 3 times only.

If you ate 2 oz 5 times a day that is 10 oz.

I eat 4 oz 3 times a day and maybe a 2 or a 3 oz snack.  So that means I am eating  anywhere from 12 to 15 oz a day. HUMMM,,,,,,  maybe I will focus on 3 oz per meal until I get to 3 months and eat 3 times a day like my doctor wants 4 oz meals and just stay there.

Thank you so much for your help.  :)))  as long as i am still losing, I guess i wont worry anymore.  I had a couple of rough days about this and I am soooOOOoooOOoo much better now!

Well girlie, you know, everyone has such different guidelines, so I could not say you ARE definitely overeating, with the exception of the OOOOoooooOOOOOs  :}  Also, chewing papaya enzymes after each dense protein meal really changed how much I *felt* my digestion.  And too, like Sublimate says, dense protein alone really changes how long is stay full, except, one of my feeings was a cheese stick and a big strawberry or a few cherries, but mostly I just ate dense protein!

I eat every 3 hours, so how many times a day depends on how long my day is!  :}  Cept I stop eating 3 hours before bed, just because I only get 6 hours of sleep (I wake up at 3 in the morning for my day to begin) and I do not want to chance any food-related non sleep issues!!

You are very welcome! Its definitely a learning kind of thing and there is a different sort of curve for everyone!!

Try eating more plain dense protein.. it will keep you fuller longer and you won't be able to eat as much.

I think you should ask your dr.  Only he or she really knows what you should be doing.  My Dr. said meals can be 3-4 oz after two months so each dr is different.  Good luck.  You have done a great job so far!

The further out that you get, the swelling in your sleeve decreases and you will be able to eat more. This is why premeasured amounts of dense protein are helpful, in controlling your intake. At two months, I was only eating 1-2 ounces, but I had complications and was nauseated a lot. It is normal to be able to eat more as you get further out from your surgery. You do need to be mindful and tracking your food in myfitnesspal is a great thing to be doing. The head hunger returns and you need to be aware of it.

By 6 months, the sleeve has mostly healed and the majority of the swelling has gone down, which makes it even more important to keep weighing, measuring, and tracking your food intake. Your calories also should be increasing, but check with your program for what their guidelines are.
