Saw my doctor and we talked about my tummy tuck in 6 months. I am all most 11 months out and I lose about 5 lbs a month now. I have to loose 40 more lbs he wants me as small as I can get so I will not loose any more weight after the tuck.

I told him I will try to loose 40 more but with only loosing 5 a month now I will not be able to loose that much. I really want my tuck and he will not do it if I do not loose the last 40. I understand this because I do not want to keep loosing after he does this.

I work out alot go to the gym 7 days a week and than at night I ride 7 to 10 miles a night on my bike. Some times I only go to the gym 3 days a week but always ride at night.

Any advise please thanks.
My surgeon gave me the tool. Now it is up to me to use it right.

although I haven't had my surgery yet, my neice had hers 5 years ago. Her surgeon made her lose the rest of her weight, which she fought really hard to lose and quite frankly had lost more than she needed to. So after the tummy tuck, in the second year she gained back to where she was at pre-tummy tuck, and has maintained that weight, her skin is pulled so tight that her scars look like they are stretched out and sometimes she complains of if being really uncomfortable.  I asked my surgeon about this and he said he absolutely will not release anyone for a tummy tuc****il 18-24 months post WLS for this very reason. he said that most people will regain a small amount in the second year and need that time to stabilize before having the tuck done.
Don't know if that helps or not, but it's some food for thought..Good Luck with your decision!

when I get my tuck I will be out 18 months or more by the time I loose the rest of the weight. My surgeon will not do a tuck till your 18 months out or more and are finished loosing weight.
My surgeon gave me the tool. Now it is up to me to use it right.

Just curious, how tall are you? I know a woman who is in the 180s and her ps told her she was finished losing. I also have heard that you lose 10 to 15 lbs in skin and then another 10 - 15 while healing. Did your ps mention any of that?

If I do my calculations correctly that would put you in the 115 range if you lost 40 lbs then lost the skin and additional weight after surgery. That sounds excessive to me. Have you thought about getting a second opinion? I've also been told surgeons won't touch you unless you're 18 months to 2 yrs post op.

I second the second opinion! Not everyone even loses all the way to goal. For myself, if I had stabilized, then got the tuck but then lost a few more pounds...big deal. I'd rather have a 2 or 3 inch 'flapper' than the foot or so I'm going to wind up with as it stands--and I may not be able to get the tuck for quite some time, so will have tohave the huge overhang until then.

I am just over a year from my VSG. I have already had as couple consultations and plan on having my arms and a tummy tuck done in October. I am not at desired weight but as long as I am where I want to be when I have the surgery the surgeons are okay with it. They are both very good with post weight loss patients.

No advice darlin...just my TT story!
I had my first consult for a tummy tuck Tuesday (my surgeon's referral in Cali)....PS told me the SAME...only LOSE 20 MORE POUNDS first!  It took me almost 8 frikken months to get all this REGAIN  off!!
My surg DOES say wait 2 years post VSG..1 year of MAINTENANCE. Well, Ive never been "at Maintenance" but trying to get a TT anyway! just so this panni ain't in the way. A TT for pete's sake! If I was CASH not insurance I bet they'd chop it off in a heartbeat.
...I got another consult end of month in AZ....we'll see what this one tells me! Hopefully I'll weigh a little less by then ....HOPEFULLY!!

But ya know Ive SEEN IT... BEFORE n AFTER bariatric surgery PS pix here on OH and on the net..Peeps lose majority of their weight...want that flab off too soon...and then they LOSE MORE WEIGHT after! you can actually see flab around TIGHT incisions/scars from losing more weight!! Do a search!! It looks WEIRD!!

I sure as hell don't wanna look like that...maybe I do..Im old ..I don't care. No I do care...Im just confused! and pissed off!...lmao!!

Im gonna be PATIENT..and keep trying to get some more OFF in the interim...or until I find a PS that will chop this **** off anyway! What else can I do
