Do l have to give up my coffee?!
My surgeon's diet guidelines say:
"Coffee and de-caffeinated coffee contains acids which are irritating to the stomach lining and should be avoided for the first few weeks for healing."

Hellll no!
I'm a coffee freak gave it up for maybe a month to not risk dehydration, but never again...
just take care at the beginning and maybe start with decaf which is good for us! also go for fat free/skimmed milk always to make it a healthier treat.
other than that im still the 2 days coffee person, but it does make u reluctant to drink your water after

I put my protein in my decaf coffee and kill two birds with one stone...flluids and protein!
I sometimes use Premier Protein shakes in vanilla and also add in some flavored sugarfree liquid coffeemate. If you use powered protein, just stir it with water or liquid coffeemate real good before you add the coffee so that it doesn't clump.

Thanks for all of the input!!! I've started weaning myself off of the leaded, and onto the decaf... more water and iced tea. I really don't want the headache on top of everything else. I guess I like it because it keeps the system moving, if you know what I mean
. I don't want to get constipated after surgery.
