I'm 3 weeks post op and have a 1/2 in*****ision that won't heal. I've put Liquid Bandage on it and it doesn't help it to close. Has anyone else had this experience?  It's seeping just a little clear drainage. I called my doctors office, but they are closed.

OMG I am so sorry. All my incisions are dry and have been for days so I really don't have any good advice. If your MD is closed you may want to try to call the day surgery department of the hospital you had your surgery. They may know what your MD does in those cases and if nothing else they can give you general advice. If that doesn't work, page your Dr. Has this just started? Do you have any other symptoms??

No other symptoms. It's a little red around the incision, but other than being annoying, cause it won't heal, it doesn't really hurt. Just a little tender. And gross to look at,

I am 3 weeks out as well and at 1.5 weeks one of my incisions opened up---it was not infected just didn't want to close.  I just went and bought some steri strips and pinched my skin together and placed them on. It is now closing and still not infected.

Best thing to do is just call your doctor in the morning.

Good luck!

It's been this way for about a week now and at first, I put butterfly bandaids on it, but I must have been allergic to them, cause they caused their own little irritation. I'll check for some of what you suggested. Thanks!

Make sure you check your temp as well..just in case of an infection... Steristrips will do the trick, make the skin close tightly together then put the strips on..leave them be until they fall off themselves..

Make sure to be monitoring for signs of infections.  Temp, drainage, odor, redness, etc.

If you can't find actual steri strips go to wal mart in the bandaid section they have tape just get the paper tape (easier on skin) and cut them to slender strips and they would hold for a couple of days.

I had an incision that took a long time to heal too, and mine had some clear drainage too. I think at about a month post-op it did seal finally. It was tender for awhile after that, but it did finally heal. If the drainage changes to yellow or green, that is the sign of an infection. Clear is part of the healing process unless it has a foul smell.

DO not I repeat DO NOT seal that incision! If you use steri strips or tape to seal that incision it could very well become infected! It needs to be looked at by a Dr and then he will make the decision that is best! If you seal it without it being cleaned and debraded you are asking for trouble! Take a gauze pad and lightly cover it and use tape to keep it in place until you see a Dr. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm 2 weeks post op and I have 3 like what you described and 3 are practically gone!!  I barely see a line.  One of those 3 are oozing a little liquid so I put a bandage.  I know these are not anything like the 3 that are closed.  Ny doc saw them 4 days ago and said they look great, I was thinking WHICH??  but he said if they get red, smell (tmi) or I get a fever or severe pain, they are ok.

So if it starts to ooze more, I think I will call them. My next appt is in July.   I'm glad you posted here I was concerned so thanks!
