OT: my day at Cedar Point with Pictures
Hey everyone! Just got back today. I was at Cedar Point for the day yesterday and spent the night at Hotel Breakers right there at the park last night. The drive was about 3 hrs 48 min from my home to Cedar Point.
My 16 yr old took a friend with us, they took off for the day and just met up with me at scheduled times. They had a great time!
My 10 yr old and I were going to spend the day riding things together. He wanted to ride the Iron Dragon. We had watched it on You Tube..and he thought it looked pretty mild. Well, we should have saved it for later in the day, because that was the 3rd thing we went on, and his very first coaster..AND he got ill. That one ride ruined the rest of the day for him. He kept puking on and off for the afternoon, and then he was so whipped over that he simply slept. He never felt good enough to go back into the park.
I am now wearing a size 16 jean and an XL shirt. I watched every single person who got off the Iron Dragon..wondering how they compared in size to me. I was so worried I wouldn't fit. I am happy to report I fit fine! I almost cried. I was so happy that I could do this with my son.
Also..my son and I each played the Guessing Game while we were there. I had the lady guess my weight. I always wonder what strangers think I weigh...how big I really look. I knew I would have to get up on the scale in front of everyone walking by..but I just didn't care. The lady guessed me at 150 lbs..
I told her I loved her! LOL I weigh 214 lbs.. I got on the scale..and she was really surprised. I am so happy to see that at least one person was shocked that i weigh over 200 lbs. Just for her to guess me as weighing ANY weight that begins with a number one is awesome!! LOL
Here's a few pics

My 10 yr old right after getting off his first roller coaster..head in the trash getting ill..

my son and his friend on the Mantis at Cedar Point..my son is the one who looks like he is scared to death! LOL

Oh..and I get home today and have a private message from someone on Facebook..who is on my friends page..he was telling me that he thinks I'm real cute and would like to get to know me better..and for me to message him.. Hmm...my page is private, therefore he doesn't know I am happily married..but still...I am so flattered! It's nice to think someone of the opposite sex finds you attractive...or cute..besides my husband!

You look great, but your poor son! I am just like that - can't ride any of those rides or I'll be sick.
I knew you'd fit. Isn't it funny how we can't see ourselves the way others see us?

Dawnie...awesome post!!! I worked at the Front Desk of Breakers for 2 years when I was in college. So many fond memories!! The pic of you behind the hotel on the beach...that round part was called the Rotunda. I actually had a room on the 3rd floor where I got to live for the summer!! So much fun!!
Sorry your son's tummy didn't like the Iron Dragon! That used to be one my favorites! My dad worked in maintenance for a few years at CP, and he helped build the Iron Dragon!!
One of my "goals" after WLS is to be able to go to CP and actually fit in the coasters again. Back in 2004, I went with my ex-husband, and we tried to ride Milennium I think...I got in, and the bar would not clasp over my lap..too much chub. They made me get off cuz I didn't fit! How humiliating!! And of course, my a-hole of an ex, went ahead and rode it by himself. (one of the many reasons he is now the ex! LOL)
Anywho, enough of my rambling. I enjoyed your post as it brought back up some fond memories!! And I hope to have a post by the end of summer similar!! Maybe I'll make it for Hollow-weekends???

Hey Dawnie,
What fun! You look great and it sure seems like you have a great time!! I miss Cedar Point (used to live in Mich and go each summer). Love the trash can picture - LMAO on that one. So glad you could do the Iron Dragon with your son - Major cool points on that one Mom! Also LOVE that you beat the weight guesser and were confident enough now to do it!
Thanks for sharing your fun day!

Awesome NSVs - terrible first coaster experience! I feel for your son - my daughter got a bug at epcot and threw up for hours and hours all over the park (she didn't want to leave - and we had lots of small bags - so... plus we had to ride the bus back to the hotel). Hope his next coaster experience is far less productive!
Thanks for sharing Dawnie.
Your poor son, so glad to hear he is doing better today. If I had gone on a roller coaster I would have been right there with him with my head in the trash bin.
..U look fantastic and your smile says it all. So glad u had a great time with your sons...As I stated before...u r an inspiration to us...Keep up the great work. Funny about the friend who was interested in getting to know u better...quite an NSV! What did your hubbie think?
