My husband is awesome

That's a wonderful feeling! My husband is the same, he worried for me and my health quietly, never a critical comment about my size or habits ever.. and when I decided enough was enough, despite no longer having a job- he was very supportive of dipping into our next house fund to pay for surgery. I was the one that wavered- he's the one that told me having the material things meant nothing if I was too sick to enjoy them with him..
He has been 100% supportive, over and above supportive actually. Things have only improved since and I'm looking forward to the future now instead of fearing it. We've been together for 13 years, all of them happy. I feel like I'm slowly peeling back the layers and becoming who I used to be when we first met. I wasn't small, but I was a curvy healthy girl. He deserves an active partner, I'm just overjoyed to be able to turn back the clock a little..
Sorry for the cheese, I don't get a chance to really talk about this too much with anyone..
Thanks for all of these positive posts! I'm also blessed with an awesome husband. He went on Weigh****chers with me several times (and lost more weight than me! ). He heard me flip flop between the pros and cons of weight loss surgery for years and just listened. Finally one day almost two years ago I told him I needed to know what he thought about it. He took a deep breath and told me that he loved me just the way I was (and I knew this already because he showed me so over the years), but that he was concerned about my health (high blood pressure, sleep apnea) and said that if I wanted to do it, I should go for it.
I warned him before surgery that I was going to lose "the girls" and he said not to worry. He said we'd fix them if we had to. He still hugs me and grabs me and tells me that he loves my body. It's so great because although I look better in clothes (with Spanx on), I feel like my body is a mess. But he loves me any way.
Girls, we are truly blessed with the special men in our lives! Let's always continue to be grateful for them and pray for those that don't have the support from our families that we have. Let's continue to be their support and cheer them on their journeys!

Thank you for sharing! In the midst of getting a divorce, it's great to know there are some good ones out there.

Glad he's such a dear.
Mine's been a winner as well: patient with my freakings out, helpful with keeping food flowing for our daughter, endlessly understanding. I feel incredibly lucky.

Mine has been awesome, too! He goes with me to my support group meetings, he came as back up when I took our Beagles and did the Dog Day 5k, and on the first night I volunteered at the hospital to speak about my surgery, he came strolling in with a grin on his face and sat in the audience.
When one of the potential WLS people asked the question "How has your spouse been through your whole journey?" I answered "Ask him yourself, he's sitting right there"...I almost lost it...my heart was just full of love and pride for my guy!
This experience has made us stronger and I love him more every day!!
