Too good to be true?!
How awesome!!! l've already become your buddy, by the way....=) What a wonderful experience it was! l met a few of his patients in the waiting room and they had the very BEST opinions of him. The entire staff is very nice and helpful - no one rushes you or anything. They ALL make you feel like you're the only patient in the whole world. l really recommend taking a snack, like they mention in the info packet they sent. They provide coffee and water, but a few hours in you're going to be famished! Don't even worry about taking pen and paper for notes - when you check in they give you a tote bag, water bottle, pen, notebook and TONS of reading material. You'll also get vitamin samples after seeing the Nutritionist. l had made my first appt for the nut on the same day as l live a couple of hours away from Marquette. While l was there l also set up my next nut appt, and on the same day an appt with Dr Jones for my psych eval. Oh yeah, Dr English WILL NOT discourage you in the least from the sleeve - but it doesn't sound like he's too thrilled with the band. =) The bariatric coordinator - Nadine, l think, had the by-pass about 9 yrs ago and she seems a little pushy on that , but not too much. Not one single person in my group of 9 was getting the band. lt seemed that at least 5 of us, from what people said, were going to get the sleeve. l also came home with a bunch of contact info from fellow patients in my group - we really hit it off well and want to keep in touch. l told them all about this wonderful forum, so l hope they join as well. Any more questions, please feel free to ask!!!
