Panic before the disco!

So I had my first official pre-surgery freak out/sob fest.  I have a twin sister who is also severely overweight and I started to think about how my weight loss will affect her.  I know it will go one of two ways... 1.) it will motivate her to do something about her weight, 2.) it will make her depressed and she will gain more weight. 

Obviously I worry about the latter option.  Then I took a hard look at my past and realized that I always put everyone else's feelings and issues before my own and I know that I am 100% having this surgery to better MY life and no one can take that away from (OK maybe GOD could).  Anyway I am sure I will have a few more emotional freak outs as my date gets closer.   It is crazy the array of emotions one feels leading up to surgery.

hey like I told my husband maybe this surgery will save your life like its going to save mine. he doesnt have near as much as i have to lose but we wont be eating out together anymore and will be cooking better things at home. and he has been eating healthy with me on my pre op diet. I've lost 8 and he has lost 6 !

your sister will be fine! and she will get her health in order when its her time. everyones light comes on at a different time. maybe you going first will inspire her to do the same or atleast make some changes good luck o and BTW my surgery is July 19th

Maybe it will motivate her like my sister's surgery and success motivated me. You have to do what is best for you. Hope your surgery is as smooth as mine.

I am also having surgery July 13, but so far no train wrecks, but I am getting more and more nervous/excited.
