my progress with getting the surgery..

I decided to try another doctor to see if insurance will cover, since the other doctors office was a joke and still had not submitted the paperwork even after she swore for the third time that she "submitted everything" I know its the office and not insurance because when I read the reviews everyone has this complaint, and the insurance lady is fantastic and gets back to us the same day every time. Blessed to have an insurance liason that stays in close contact!

Anyway, so I am currently holding off on Mexico- and trying this other doctor. So far, so good...they have been in much better contact. Wednesday I have to go to my primary and get a note of medical neccesity, and then Thursday I have to get my psych eval. Kinda nervous about that one loL! I cannot see the bariatric surgeon for my initial consultation until 8/4 which sucks-but at least I am making a step in the right direction!

This is such a LONG process! It gets really frustrating and part of me wishes I had just went to Mexico 9 months ago...but now I have too much time invested in it to not give insurance a try!

Good luck, if insurance covers it you just saved a lot of $$, MX is always there as an option if needed :)

yea, according to the lady that does billing at this new doctor, with insurance my total would be about 3500, which would be about a 6000 savings from Dr. Alvarez, plus its just an hour and a half from home..which I know would be easier on me. I am a weenie when it comes to anything! ;)

patience and persistance is the watchword in  dealing with insurance companies. Took me 5 months to get my insurance company lined up. good luck and sounds like you are on the right track.
