hi all,

it's me checking in again.  how have things been going?  how do you think things will be different now that we've reached the end (almost) of the golden 6 mos?  i'm scared i won't lose another pound.  of course, i'm always scared i won't lose another pound!

i'm feeling totally normal, eating almost everything i did before except the horrendous stuff (Popeye's onion rings, sob!), barfing up stupid stuff only rarely and pretty proud of myself.  bought my first pair of 1X  pants on vacation, down to 2X in shirts (formerly the biggest boobs in america), 18s that i bought are loose so i just ordered some size 16 stuff ("end" of summer sales!).

i think we should all be proud of ourseleves, at whatever stage we are.  i long to be one of those "I lost 100 lbs in 6 mos" people, but i'm just not, and that's basically okay.  when was the last time i lost 56 lbs in 6 most?  NEVER!!!

So, check in, my little chickadees!  BRAVO us!!!!  ((((((((((hugs)))))))))

Doing fine here!  No vomiting for me since month 3, back to my normal routine, my cholesterol is down 70 points, my PCP is thrilled.  I'm low-carbing my way to goal and this is the easiest weight loss I've ever had.  I'm a carnivore anyway so it's been effortless...

I'm one of the slow losers.  Including pre-op, I've lost 85 lbs.  I'm at 201 now, just teetering above Onederland.  I've went from a size 28 to a 16, though I can wear stretchy 14s.  I haven't made some of the best decisions and I'm sure that has hindered my weight loss.  But I'm trying to get back on track.  I had my very first complication just a couple days ago, I had to go to the hospital for fluids because of dehydration.  I've been so diligent about getting in my fluids, protein and vitamins but I started a new job where they wouldn't let me drink my water.  So they day after I was in the hospital, I resigned my position.  I figured it wasn't worth being in the hospital once a week over.

Six months seems like a long time ago for me at least. Hopefully the the next 15-20 lbs I will be in the 2xl shirt size and never shop at the big and tall section again. I refuse to buy any clothes till then. So im glad I kept shirts that didnt fit me when I was at my biggest and now are way to big but dont look ridicules on me.

Time flies when you are having fun and I am having a blast!  I have 18 lbs to go.  I will need plastics to fix the huge batwings and the hanging flap of abdomen that I tuck in every day.  When people ask me how I am doing I always say that I am doing great and couldn't  be happier.  I have had people ask me why I am so happy....imagine that!   I have followed my doc's plan, I exercise, and I keep the goal in sight.  I don't need to eat anything off plan as much as I need to reach goal.  There will be plenty of time to add foods in once I have reached goal and gotten a handle on maintenance.  I am wearing size 6 pants to work after starting in men's 42 waist Dickies.  Seems crazy to me every time I zip those new pants up.  I hope everyone can be as excited as I am about this life change.
I am not big boned!  Bones don't jiggle!

I'm still 3 weeks out from 6 months, but I"m down 104lbs including Pre-op, 72 post-op.   I was a size 26-28 on top and 30 on the bottom (I'm 5'3), and I"m down to a 12P on top, and a 14P-16P on the bottom.  I had a lot of company and a lot of food in the house over a 5 day holiday weekend. I made good choices except for may the blood-orange frozen Margarita on Sunday.  What can I say, I'm human.

I find if I stick to low-carb I have no hunger at all and it's all pretty easy.    I"m working with a trainer as much as I can -- 2x-3x weekly, although my schedule is really screwed up right now because I had to let someone go at work. I"m pushing hard to meet my 6 month goal -- 70% EWL, but It's going to be a stretch. I'm still losing well -- 2.5-2.75lbs per week (10.5lbs in the last 30 days), but there has been some slowing.

Glad to see you doing so well!
