Your nut or surgeon may give you the average. They will take your extra weight and calculate it by a percentage of how much you will lose. But looking at this board it looks possible to lose much more. I was told 125 lbs. but I want to lose atleast 150-170

CAN it be done? Sure - after all, it's even possible without surgery. It comes down to your behaviors and choices; the sleeve is only one piece of the puzzle.

I love it when the big losers take the time to answer these questions. Even though I already knew of all of you  (except BillieF), it is a nice reminder. Its a good way to stay focused.

Wow thank you everyone for your great responses, very inspiring.  I can't believe how long I have actually been a member of this site, 7 years lol It has taken me this long to get here and in the begining I was looking at lapband then RNY after my surgeon told me I would basically fail with the band, which was a huge blow.  Anywhoooo he just started offering VSG and as I read about the surgery itself and everyone's post I couldn't be more excited to start my journey. Hopefully my only regret will be like a lot that is I only regret not getting it sooner :)  It's been a long time coming and hopefully all goes as planned and I will have the sleeve Aug. 22.  I was put in for Aug. 22 as long as all my labs and such come back good.  I was worried about the upper GI not sure how you pass or fail that one.  I have heartburn.  It used to be constant then I took protonix for a while and it went away.  I notice when I eat certain things it flares up and of course the day of my upper GI it was raging, hope that doesn't affect anything with the test lol.  Thanks everyone, Kerry
