be honest with me...about WRINKLES...

lol, I just want to be prepared. Its not a deal breaker for me (obviously) but tell me....does the fat keep me plump and keep wrinkles at bay? I am almost 30 in ummmmm.....21 days....lol. I have noticed some of my friends my age are showing some signs of age, and I am happily wrinkle free. So, is it good genetics or......do I have wrinkles to look forward to after the surgery?

having good skin genes helps -- a LOT.    there are some things that you can do to make a slower transition into wrinkledom...  they will eventually get you (nobody escapes!) but in the meantime --

the big number ONE -- SUNSCREEN. SUNSCREEN. SUNSCREEN.   the sun is your mortal enemy... SPF 30 or higher ALWAYS. even on cloudy days.  a suntan is nothing more than a massive scar on your skin.

2. find a good anti-aging moisturizer and use it twice a day, from your forehead down to your chest -- your neck and chest will start to look older too, so don't ignore them...  i like l'oreal revitalift or age perfect.  i've been using it for over 10 years, and nobody believes me when i tell them i am just shy of 55 years old...

3. find some good sunglasses - look for 100% UV protection. and wear them any time you find yourself needing to squint - cloudy days can be too bright too --  the more you squint, the more prominent the crow's feet..  uh, i mean laugh lines...

4. did i mention sunscreen?

good luck!

My reality is full of wrinkles.

I hate it, and have contemplated botox and filler, well more than contemplated it. I just happened to pop positive on a pregnancy test before my appointment NOW, let me tell you that I am a smoker so that doesn't help, and I've smoked since I was 18. I'm not smoking in the pregnancy, but at 34, that's 16 years of smoking.

Here's some comparison pics of just my face so you can see what I'm talking about.

So, you can see the pronounced crow's feet, laugh lines, neck wrinkles(no turkey neck, just those side wrinkles when I turn my head a certain way), tiny lip wrinkles.

HOWEVER. . . I wouldn't trade the wrinkles in for the back fat rolls! ! !

Tiff,
I think you're gorgeous! It amazes me how weight ages a person. You look young and vibrant!!!

Thanks soooooooooooooo much. . . I'm trying to embrace the wrinkles, but botox and juvederm will help way more ha ha ha.

The consistent thing I keep hearing is....you look 20 years younger.....you looked so sad in your before pictures...and I was miserable, so thats pretty accurate. I dress younger than I did, I feel younger than I did...I've tried more new things this summer...even my kids wouldn't try...(kayaking!!)
Do I have more wrinkles? I don't think I do compared to before...they may show a little deeper....or I'm just smiling all the time...so bring on the laugh lines, I'll take those over my triple chin I had any day!!!

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh and totally agree about moisturizing and sunscreen.

I use Garnier ultra gravity defining ultra lift moisturizer and have for most of my 2 years post-VSG. I've tried others without the same tightening/lifting, and I'm about to start using a Mary Kay eye cream that my friend has had great results using.

I moisturize 2 times per day, and exfoliate twice weekly.

That was a big worry of mine as well!!  Everyone always told me how young I look and I attributed it to 1.) I have worn sunglasses religiously since my early twenties when I had an epiphany that squinting causes eye wrinkles, and 2.) The fat plumped out all the wrinkles.  So far I have not noticed any more wrinkles than before.  But I still have a ways to go in my weight loss, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Thanks for all the feedback. I am a product JUNKIE, I do product reviews on my blog and get to try so many amazing products. Actually what brought this up was I was just sent some Ernest Laszlo line and wrinkle face mask lol.....
I wear sunglasses religiously because my eyes are extremely sensitive to the sun, and I really stay out of the sun as much as I can (cause I am fair and burn.) The only thing I am not wonderful about is sunscreen.....

and bummer, I smoked too. For a LONG time....started way back when I was 15 and continued until a year ago (with a 2 year break in there) so  I do have that history of skin abuse.
