It's been one month since surgery and I've lost about 40 pounds, yay! My question to you is, does this fatigue I'm feeling ever subside?? I am on "soft/mushies" (getting about 70g of protein a day****il tomorrow, where I transition to soft solids. According to my doctor that is things like - tuna, egg, chicken and shrimp salads, ground beef, hard boiled or deviled eggs, deli meat and cheese, bread, crackers, fish such as flounder and salmon.. Please tell me that once I start eating a larger variety of foods, with more protein, I will get my energy back.. I never want to get out of bed in the morning, and by 4pm I am exhausted and can hardly kee my eyes open.. I'm a little worried.

I know just how you feel.  The fatigue will go away..a lot of if it just recovering from surgery and your body adjusting.  It's different for everyone but for me it was just short of the three month mark. That's when I finally started feeling back to my old self again. You are doing great! Keep up the good work!

As long as there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I work out and I am drained all day, which is strange to me. I just wanted to be reassured the rest of my life won't feel like this - I was pretty active before I had surgery, can't wait to get back to that (without being exhausted)

Yeah, I know it feels like you're never going to feel quite right again, but trust me; one day you'll wake up and feel back to normal. Hang in there!

I hear ya! I am just shy of 2 months, and STILL feel so drained all the time! Someone said that because of the rapid weightloss early out, that it just wipes you out. I guess that makes sense. I sure look forward to getting back to my old energy- and more!

You're not alone.  I'm a month out as of the 5th and I'm still tired, too.  In fact, as I've read through the posts the past couple of months, there are a heck of a lot more of us still tired and hurting at 4 weeks than there are those that feel great.  So rest assured we're normal, but wow-- like you, I can't wait to feel "the old kind of normal" again.  Bring it on!

I sleep like 15 hours a day! Atleast that is what it feels like, but its probably closer to 8 or 9. I don't drink anything with caffiene in it to begin with, so that is definitely not the culprit.

EDIT: I am unable to take my multivitamin and calcium, I've been taking the b12. Luckily I have a doctors appointment tomorrow, and I am going to ask for a change of vitamins. The calcium isnt chewable and the pill is MUCH larger than an M&M and I'm afraid to take it and spring a leak, and the multivitamin makes me sick to my stomach... and both of these are made for bariatric patients, sold in my doctors office - you would think they would know about the M&M rule for the calicum pills.

Wow!  I am a month out, too, and have only lost 15lbs!  10 of them were the first week after surgery.  I have plenty of energy though so I don't know what would be better!!  Maybe it has something to do with the great amount of weight you've lost?
I hope you get feeling better soon, and I hope I start losing weight soon!
