I am going out to eat tomorrow for the first time... looking at the lunch menu it seems to be my best choice, depending on the soup of the day... Can I ask for no crouton?  I don't want to risk a nibble in public...

So far I have successfully had...
egg beaters with cheese
veggie burgers
turkey meatballs
tuna
refried beens/laughing cow light swiss

I *think* I can do it....

You can do it! Just keep focused on your goal. I had sugery the same day as you and I am still on liquids for another week! I am so jealous. I hope you do well tomorrow. Let us know.

I don't know how you guys manage the liquids for so long... you rock!!!!

I can still only get 2 oz or so of food in... I have to do 2 shales a day to get enough protien, but I do look forward to my little meals :-)

I'd totally try it- & I'd think you could request no croutons.. or just kinda pick the cheese off the croutons.. if a tiny bit gets missed, it's not going to mess you up. In fact french onion soup sounds really good to me right now!

Wow, I couldn't handle eggs or veggie burgers at three weeks out.  You'll have no problem with the onion soup.  Just go slow.

Yeah... I am a little freaked that I can handle so much so easiely... but the restriction is amazing and I am hovering arund 400-450 calories, under 20 carbs... without shakes I couldn't break 250 at this point!

It really is amazing, isn't it.  I get sooo full on a few bites of food.  I think back to what I used to eat -- I don't think I ever felt full.

I was kind of type A on my diet during the healing stage. I really wanted it to heal well to give me the best chance at success with it.

So, when I went to my favorite place that has french onion soup (which I love BTW), I asked told them I was on a clear liquid diet and asked them to only give me the broth portion. It took a minute to get straight what I wanted but they did great. It was sooo yummy. I enjoyed it just as much as with the croutons and cheese, without the fear of messing up what I had just spent a bunch of hard-earned money on.

Just my two cents. It is a short time for healing, so I would try my hardest to stick to the plan.

Good luck!
On my way!!!!!!
